Do you still have doubts about this guy's shrewdness? He will go any extend to be in power. All this while he was hurling abuses at Lord Ram to garner minority votes but since DMK is a strong ally of United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Congress got into a fix with his stand because that would hamper their votes in North. This new ploy of Karunanidhi speaking in Hindi suddenly is the new development to bail Congress out.

Only if we keep an open mind to question beliefs and learn more about them will we actually know the real meaning behind such teachings. Merely following something and in all probability a wrong interpretation will only make us intolerant and prejudiced. It is also the fear of unseen and unknown which prevents most of us from questioning it. It applies to all religions.

Yes questioning belief is the basis for the existence ,infact....the UPANISHADS are all about this😊...however questioning belief by most is not encouraged much by elders /parents

@ Ramayan versions: Valmiki might be a post...may be several people might have updated it in each generation.May be there were tons of changes to the original valmiki ramayan.😊

Coming back to the topic of Ram Sethu:

1. This issue might not have come to this level if it were a Muslim or Christian related bridge😛
2. The tolerance of Hindus is always high....this is a proven fact.....but this always fetched some new advantages to INDIAN SUB CONTINENT...Hmm! People of other religions could not tolerate a cartoon or a ficton work on their GOD or GOD related things😊
3. Bringing GOD/Religion into the development or administrative affairs is always a cheap thing.In some places....like in Hyderabad...if any community people want to prove their dominance they construct small religious structure some time in midnight...if at all it has to be removed for the sake of road widening or any development activity...then it becomes a political issue.
   
4. Regarding Ramsethu project......any person with lil bit of questioning nature wonders..if that bridge were a man made bridge...But the real question is IS SETHUSAMUDRAM PROJECT REALLY ESSENTIAL??? SHOULD RAM SETHU BE DESTROYED???
   

Kal El, we are going in circles repeating the same thing so let em revisit what I am saying. I am only referring to Ram Setu here. I also love to dig graveyards of history but not doing here.
Hindusism is land of religion. Our Lord Budhha ia also one of the incarnation of God. SO is Lord Ram. It is due to the grace of our Land that all religion that emerged here are for mankind and are more liberal then others. Be it Mahavir Jain or Gautam Buddha or Lord Ram.
Yes they were great enough to create a stream line of religion to be followed..again very liberal and main focus on mankind. not only them we had great king who followed them too. Great Ashoka, Raja Harischandra, Dusyant raja Manu for some examples.

Not to deabte was in sense of is our beleif here any hinderance at this moment..NO
unfortunately we have some brain dead people as our leader, who never do their home work. Same thing happened here. Since the whole project is badly projected..economically, environmentaly and then religiously too. But they preferred to start it or stop based on religion. If they had some valid points or some valid studies showing how this was fruitful to our economy, then one can debate or argue. I se no sense on debate on subjects like this..tommorow if any one wants to deabte if Lord Gannesha really had or how he really god Elephant head..where does it take US? but is you have debate on sacrificie son the name of religion, fooling peopel..then yes.

Following myth and following your beliefs are totally diffrent. If I want to follow a saying of Bhagwad Gita..it is fine, but if I torture someone based on it..that is wrong. Then the question of debate arises.

Now if you want to debate whether ot not tooth fairy exist, then what can I say 😛

Now for festivity..I took example as per my limited knowledge, i donot know any othe rmonument which is constructed by Lord itself. All monuments are man made. SO I took the festivity which is related to the monument. SOme times leaving our Ved Purans as they are, makes sense as you cannot fight with our beliefs.

Now in Ram Setu, it is already clear that making it is no use. So why should we continue to fight for it based on only those facts? Why should we not include our belief specially when religion is the only language these brain dead leaders understand and keep challenging our beliefs.

When to follow a belief and when not to follow depends. We have a huge mahashivratri function In doon valley. Temple of lord Shiva used to have drippings of milk as per priest and peopel saw it. Priest made sure no one could touch it. Then after several years now only water drips and it was told that some one collected the milk one night and sold it so now only water drips. Well the reason was lime reagion where due to porus rocks, water came dissolving lime so was milky and and since lime is eroded away so only water drips now.
Now we still believe in Shivlinga and we still go to that temple.
In the same way, if there was any reason where Karunanidhi could prove how this project is or
was fruitful, may be we could debate. Now there is no debate. IF any monument say ...Dome of Rock or any Masjid comes ont the way of any economic benefit...tell me how much deabte is going to be there?
Babri Masjid is worship place, so he Ram & Krishna Janam Bhumi. There destruction was ok.
Still I will say ok as they were man made.

It is our belief that Lord Rama made it so he made it...Period. That is the only way we can save our bridge. 😛

We should not accept myths as they are told but we cannot run and find logic in every thing. EG we can go for DNA test just to prove if our parents are right in telling us that they are our parents. These facts are also based on the knowledge passed on to us about out family tree. in the same way our beliefs are passed on to us. Saying God is watching on what you do. how can we find logic in that? Just that we are being taught to be good. is that not the only good logic and reason? Now should we go and question the existence of God by doing wrong deeds????

Perhaps this can be an eye opener for thos who think we can keep religion aside on this project.

Tihari dam had intense protests from environmental groups and the people of its local region. environmental concerns regarding the location of large dams in the fragile ecosystem of the Himalayan foothills . not only that it is lime stone region where landscape slides are most common. So it raised the safety concern. The Tehri dam is located in the Central Himalayan Seismic Gap, a major geologic fault zone. More then 1lakh people were relocated and more then anticipated villages got submerged in the water and yet the dam still brining only tears.
Any earthquake or major land slide...what happens. Not only still no drinking water or electricity supply but more villages are being vacated. 😭 If you ever visit that place you will not come with out a tear in your eyes due to distructions this dam has caused

Only if a temple or masjid was associated with this project. 😃

i watched some zee tv news today & the saffron colred cloth- clad guys and their behaviour made me upset 🤢 .. if these are the kind of guys defending existence of shri Ram & historical & religios vitality of the sethu, then perhaps i will be the last one to get convinced 😕 ..
