also, history teaches us this- when times are good, we appease and try to welcome others into the bhai-bhai bonhomie. like now. and like Mr Chauhan of yesteryears. when times are bad, we get slaughtered or forced to convert, thanks to aurangzeb and taliban-minded folks. the scary part is when someone can be aggressive even when they are in the minority, as is so often the case even today in india. what would happen if the tables were turned? at current rates of population growth amongst different people, one should not be too surprised to find ourselves as underdogs once again. hope the other nice folks remember our generosity today. and "all the rising above" that we are doing today.😊

Just one suggestion to Somya & Rj, 😛 😛 Raksha was the debate champion in a thread on gandhism. I truly was surprised and hence wanted to ask her.
According to me, the real issue is hindu feelings being hurt over and over again, and I agree with that. Why am I not serving my country today? Why don't I defend India with all my might? Why am i a citizen of the world? Several issues of this nature may they be political / religious / cultural/ state border / water-related / language -related.. make me question how great we really are. Having opened the can of worms right there, I think this will be one of my ending posts in this thread. I see why you would feel oppressed and want to be heard and fight against the "forced pseudo-secularism".
I will say again- killing and destruction is petty. Laws should be mended, and enforcements should be improved. we can all live as REAL EQUAL CITIZENS then.. and we will all let go the past easily.
Sou & R, Mandir wahee banaakar bhi jaroori nahee hai ke every hindu will then onward feel an EQUAL citizen.
Reservation issue speaks volumes of that! 😳 😳

So make rules, stop multiple marriages and FORCE population control. That is how China controlled it. You will call them names for communism and beat our own drums of greatness for being such a great social democratic republic. Your citizens / politicians are manipulating civil / constitutional rights , so amend them. Be brave and face the rage of human rights activists. Convince them how India needs to stop dividing like bacteria 🤢🤢🤢.. Obey laws and make laws worth obeying 😉. Not so hard.

i dont think the choices have to be quite as stark- that we can have only temple construction or feeding/ housing the poor. we can do both if we wanted to. there's enuff money in the system. in fact, if we want to develop a better sense of national identity (like the japanese in the 60s who dedicated their sweat and hard work for lifting up their economy), having certain issues (like the temple) that most of us can coalesce around might not be a bad thing.

point of mentioning how others like the Jews and Christians deal with similar problems is to see if there's anything to be gained there.
