Thanks Raksha for posting this hot topic😃. It was so good to read so many perspectives and actually some of the views enlightened me. Sometimes you make a notion about someone and then they just surprise you. 👏

Couple of points Taran,

a) No giving out warnings, of any nature whatsoever, to any member on the thread.

b) Please point out the bashing in the thread.

Shiv Sena has many faults and may good. But for them, Mumbai's traffic would have been chaotic, they set the process for building of better roads, unfortunately the implementation was taken over by the next government. But the average Mumbaikar wont forget this big boon which this party has given us.

But it is this very Shiv Sena which has ping ponged on so many other issues, including going out to say that Mumbai is only for the native Mumbaikars, or the marathi manoos, completely ignoring the zillions of others living in Mumbai who have regarded this their home in more ways than one and who are more if not equally passionate about this land.

It is this very Shiv Sena which had a big hand in the communal riots which rocked Mumbai and the scars of that is still fresh in some hearts, which lost many a loved one.

And it is this very Shiv Sena who has today successfully found employment for all the unemployed marathi manoos in the new malls which are springing up in different parts of mumbai.

For each of their good, there is a bad.

Discussing the bad with the good is what the forum is meant for. If someone uses filthy language or hurtful language, please... please, it is a request to all, do not do so. Lets debate on the topic and not the person.

It is not about bashing anyway. It is criticizing their ways. Land of marathas has also given us gems like Raje Shivaji, Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Swatantryaveer Savarkar, Gokhale, Agarkar, Sane guruji (extremist before he became a peaceful follower of Mahatma Gandhiji) .. Therse are people who ALSO used EXTREME measures and worked on mobilizing the masses and INFLUENCED an enlightened their (people) thought process instead of causing PETTY terror, and acts of demolition. They influenced masses with their INTELLECT and their power. They were not tolerant, yet neither were they fanatics.

I criticize and will continue to criticize Shivsena for failing to reach out in a nobel, strong yet sensible way to stand and fight against injustice, following the path of heroes I mentioned above.

I am very proud of my heritage, though not of shivsainiks eve-teasing in their past-time (Vile Parle, Juhu, Dadar- personal experience). I cannot help not liking them for their petty acts every now and then. It is not bashing them, but criticizing their ways. And ofcourse their are bad apples everywhere and good ones too. I am sure there are Good shivsainiks as well. Never undermined that. They have done good things for maharashtrians in some ways and marathi manoos can be thankful for that.
I hope this clears some of the above remarks made by various members against SS.
