He has two sets of papers - both Hindu and Muslim - and has been using both based on which one helps him more at a particular time. He turned into a Dalit to get a government job more easily.
Lately, he was sucking up to the RSS and has been trying to get elected through the BJP.
The only reason they must have gotten him now is that he wasn't sharing his extortion profits with them. When you fly too high, this is what happens.
