I stand corrected. Since there is no predominantly Sanskrit-speaking state or region, I erroneously made an assumption.

The comment about me being a non-Indian was uncalled for. You can correct someone for being wrong without resorting to making a judgment about them.

I am curious. Why and how do most Indians know English? Some even get made fun of if they don’t know English 🤔🧐

Commenting to file petition for Sanskrit as official lang is uncalled for . Commenting , spreading misinformation being non Indian based on assumptions about india is uncalled for . So just given info tat Sanskrit is already one of d official language.

Tamil certainly didn't come from Sanskrit. It is in fact thought to be older than Sanskrit by some scholars.

Regardless, Sanskrit comes from a proto Indo Aryan language. Tamil is very definitely Dravidian. Separate language family.

Was Sanskrit ever a spoken language?

There's a school of thought that it never was

I'm puzzled by that. It was the language in which the epics were told by bards. So how is it not spoken?
