Hello friends it's my first time to be in this debate mansion.
So I'm here to create awareness of a clinical pharmacist. Many of the internal members will agree with me but also many members will neglect it.
I myself a student of Pharm-D and before answering I wanna make it clear D-Pharm, M-Pharm and Pharm-B are different from pharm-D. Clinical pharmacists or to say Pharm-D members are different from the above pharmacy professions. You may ask what, then the answer is a clinical pharmacist is the member who analyse our prescription, make us aware of the medicines, there side effects, when to take, where to store , what we eat and what not. And most importantly they check your past history to present and suggest for your better future.
You may ask ok then what.
Guys in many hospitals outside India every hospital over there have clinical pharmacist associated with a doctor. There they give priority to the CP then doctor.
Don't get me wrong but it's the fact because doctor is busy and he should attend many other surgeries or cases apart from just seeing an out patient. So to make time the doc just check your physical symptoms write few tests followed by medicines, explain them when to take. That's it, there duty is over. So what about the doubts patient gets if the person forgets to take will it be affect the person in future of he fails and to answer this questions we don't have anyone to turn around here comes the CP he does few roles of doctor.
There both roles are to cure the particular disease and secure a patient's life. If you ever notice a doctor gives a same drug to the 2 different patients who has same problem.
Doctors don't have time to check analyse does the drug suits the patient, will he be over dozed or can it show show any effects.
So to solve this problem in foreign countries every department of medicine it may be nephrology or ontology to a simple FEVER they are CP' s assigned.
India is still under developed country in case of health. People don't even know that a costly medicine which cannot be bought by poor are also available in market with same action in cheap rate. But due to there lack of awareness they spend more money.
I know you people can call me as biased to my progression but don't you think here our government has not taken any action in health issues. If the governmentbrings out law having CP sfor every department of hospital then I'm sure we can see a healthy INDIA. But this system of assigning CP is not even there. People tend to go to other countries to establish this carrier. If you Google about role of clinical pharmacist in Google and what is the future of them in INDIA.
Then you can understand my rant.
Thank you,
Regards,
