keeping arms in his home.....how do we know what exactly he is...khuni or something else. Paisa dey ker kanoon khreed rakha hai uss ney. Baaki ka kaam uss key baap-behen ney sambhala hua hai. Seriously, if it was a common man with the same chargesheet, we all know he would have been sentenced long long time ago.

very funny qwert....but seriously yaar, I bought my knife at a grocery store. I did not get whole bunch of guns, kartoos etc from underworld, knowing fully well that the people belong to underworld, and hid them in my house. There is ample proof to indicate that he did do some illegal stuff. What exactly was his involvement was not exactly prooved because the evidence was tainted because of undue influence exerted by him and his dad.

But agreed he has been found in possession of arms but what has he actually done with them? It's not like he has harmed anyone!

What are the aims of imprisonment....

- Protection to Soceity - He hasn't harmed anyone so what is soceity been protected from?

- Deterance - Agreed if he is sent to jail it will warn others of carrying weapons..BUT...Doesn't it just put of all those who have already taken off on the wrong path...For example those who have such weapons, today after seeing Sanju being sentenced, are they going to be willing to leave it all when they are gonna end up in prison anyway! Sanju not going to jail will show others that if you are willing to turn away from the bad then you will be supported and be able to live freely!

- Reformation - He's already done so!

I am still confused as to why he was sent to jail? Did they prove that he killed someone or misued the weapons? Or what is it about..still confused till this day
If it's only for having illegal weapons then they should have given him the jail time that he already served and let go. B/c seriously almost everyone in India own illegal weapons, trust me go up to Punjab almostt every house has one for protection.

He is convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case
the following were found with him. Three AK-56 rifles, its ammunition, 9 mm pistol, its cartridges and hand grenades, which were part of the consignment smuggled by Tiger Memon to set off a series of blasts in Mumbai on March 12, 1993.
Sanjay's friends Yusuf Nallawalla and Kersi Adajenia were also found guilty under the Arms Act and for destroying evidence.

CBI Reports:

The CBI had said that Yusuf Nallawalla and Kersi Adajenia had helped Sanjay in destroying an AK-56 rifle by melting it in a foundry and disposing of the remains in the sea.

The court held Zebunisa Qazi guilty of abetting terrorist acts by keeping in her possession weapons delivered to her by gangster Abu Salem and his men. The CBI said Salem and his associate Manzoor Ahmed Syed had carried weapons from Sanjay's residence to Zebunisa's house.
