What do you suggest to advocate sustainability? Some people do not want to go through the hassles of child rearing while some think children are Gods gifts and so more the merrier. Not too difficult to guess who will wipe out whom.

Unfortunately the ones who thing children are Gods gifts are the one who are mass producing them and they are the ones who are not able to provide for them in the best possible way. Yes it is not too difficult to guess who is wiping out whom, and this is exactly where I am pointing out that we as a society should control the diversity of population.

I agree with everything you explained OP.
But real world doesn't function that way, it'll be rather difficult to put what you said in practise.

The ones with unsuitable traits can be put down on paper, but its hard to determine them in real life, on a case-to-case basis, for the basic reason, that we lack the required technology to round a person off and put them in either category.

I see that happening in the future though..by the end of this century perhaps.

But I think originally, people them selves should feel this way, "can I provide a life or home conducive for their holistic growth?" before procreating.

And besides, think of the uproar it would cause in our Indian society at the very mention of something like this...lol

These are idealistic thoughts, I don't see them materializing in my lifetime. But this is something which will gain momentum as we probably reach year 2100. And as I speak of License to give life else where in the world there is a momentum gaining for right to choose when to die. Have a read about The Big Sleep http://www.theage.com.au/interactive/2016/the-big-sleep

Human race has evolved from being barbaric no better than animals to more sophisticated species capable of making complex decisions. However there are some sections of population who cannot shake off their hardwired human desires.

How about the very obvious
1. People who have genetically transmitted physical disabilities, with higher risk of transmitting to offspring.
2. People with mental disabilities, they can either transmit the disability to offspring or inherently not capable of taking care of their own children.
3. People who cannot financially support and provide for the children.

Point is you cant make babies and expect them to grow with disability or hardships. When you know you yourself have a bleak future, why would you bring a new life into this world condemned to live a pitiful life. It becomes societies responsibility to take care of this problem of unwanted children. What is the responsibility of people who create them.

How do you ensure that those without licence do not get to breed?

When we get to the day when these ideologies are accepted, we will find a away to enforce it too.

More than enforcement, it should be personal responsibility on what quality of life you can provide to your kids.
