Dubai doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of history and natural beauty but it is good for a few days of relaxed comfortable holidaying where you are surrounded by man made beauty and all sorts of creature comforts.

I still dont get it honestly... there are mega malls everywhere now arent they? You go through mirdiff city centre or mall of emirates and you have the same shops that youll find in malls everywhere.. Debenhams m&s zara mango sephora aldo next ...
Mall of dubai definitely has a bit more high end stuff...
I dont know... I guess i m just not that interested in it (yet 😉 )

I have heard that shopping wis singapore and malaysiaare better ... Lower taxes there or something...

Well i ll definitely try and go to fujeirah and ras al khaimah and the rest .. Lets see

Indian prefer Dubai because it's usually a stopover and easier visa stipulation and it's the glamour , i guess. You see even B-town regularly visits the city for promotions. I think , it's a good chilling place if you be living in hotels on your way to Europe/US or just for a weekend fun.

I guess i just dont see the sense of going just to malls and restaurants when you are on a foreign vacation...

My husband went to Poland a year ago ...work trip... I couldn't go because it was january and maryam was very young...
He went shopping at the mall but also visited the old town and the castle and Aushwitz...
And he tried polish cuisine there...

Yesterday saw a bunch of european tourists at trader vic's..and i m thinking... Why come here and not try the local cuisine?

Dubai has become a big celeb hotspot too..all your big designer parties like Valentino and all, happens there..your HW celebs take holidays..it's just the flashy glitz and glamour ..I don't think the aim is to understand local culture but to enjoy man made luxury . I personally love Abu Dhabi more , dubai is good for gold shopping ( such a desi thing).😆
