as usual, you barking up the wrong tree. That was indianprincess with the friend of grandpops, not atominis.šŸ˜† And no, my sympathies are with the indian army that your buddy atominis ran down with the comment: "The indian army didn't even spare innocent children, women, old age ppl who had come to the golden temple for worship when they attacked it in the name of flushing out terrorists."

that might be cool for you. It aint for me. . The army has a tough job with phony patriotic politicians as it is, we dont need more bull from virtual posters with virtual evidence that we cant test for veracity. And sorry buddy, i am here to debate, not chit chat. If you or your buddies cant do that, maybe you should try the chat forums?šŸ˜†

That reminds me- genocide? You do like using fancy words, dont you?šŸ˜†

it wasn't atominis who said that, it was me and stand by my point.
you can have a look at this bbc documentary video for proof, your "beloved" army's doings are very well exposed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXqH0AFBYkU , watch the video from 22:40 to save time.
but i know you still won't believe and accuse pilgrims for spreading khalistani propaganda.
yes, army is innocent, govt is innocent, everybody is innocent its only the sikhs who are at fault and deserved to be killed for misdoings of a few.
no actually even 1984 is a conspiracy, nothing like it ever happened, entire sikh population was in secret deal with the pak ISI to tarnish the secular tolerant image of the greatest nation of the universe.
india is the best country, how dare anyone point finger at the most tolerant country ever.

Yes India does owe an apology to the Sikhs. What I don't agree with is, that the riots have been dubbed as a attack by Hindus on Sikhs. It was not, it was Congress supporters who attacked Sikhs. Congress supporters from 1970s became extremely high handed because of the virtual monopoly that they enjoyed in the Indian political scene and they used to attack or threaten anyone who were not affiliated with their party somehow or didn't agree to tow their line. They attacked Communists, forced students to boycott college exams and threatened them if they did not obey, going out became unsafe for girls. Indira Gandhi brought the culture of political party fostering goons to suppress others, which is now emulated by all other parties in India. She also started the trend of turning political parties into family business by propping up her son Sanjay Gandhi as the heir apparent to the Congress throne. In a way, whole of India was terrorised by Congress supporters during 1970s and 80s, although what happened to the Sikh community during the riots was of a much higher magnitude than the general terror that the Congress supporters spread over others. But to blame Hindus for the murders committed by Indira Gandhi and her gang of goons is unfair.

i am not blaming hindus or the general indian population for what happened, i can understand why they chose to remain quite, everyone fears for their lives its natural. hindus on individual basis saved thousands of sikhs and provided shelter in their homes.. sometimes risking even their own lives, which all sikhs are grateful for and acknowledge it too.
when i say india i actually refer to the corrupt politicians and their goons and not the country as a whole. pls don't get me wrong.
when i blame the indian army for operation blustar I'm not talking about the entire army but a few corrupt generals who were hand in gloves with the establishment for their own selfish reasons... in fact my heart goes out to the ordinary soldiers who were killed for no fault of theirs and were only obeying orders of their seniors.. when all this could be prevented had action against bhindranwale taken when he had criminal charges on him.
both hindus and sikhs committed sins,no one was completely black or white. but innocent sikhs(who had no connection to all this) had to pay the ultimate price and still after so many years haven't got justice.
i blame the indian govt to a large extent and the army to a certain extent for what happened.

Golden Temple is the hub of Sikh religion, all important leaders of Sikh community will be there, yet they did not force Bhindranwale to leave the Golden Temple premises. Shouldn't they have done that?

My friend the people in such situations get killed.

Both infighting and fear ensue.

If a certain group or bunch of people become way too powerful and are also armed then you cannot do much. They start fighting with each other. It also becomes issue of for us or against us, between both parties. I assume politicians were trying to save their own skin.

I have heard Bhindranwale and co had entered Golden Temple discreetly. There are many differing accounts on that. But my assumption is that politicians or whatever Sikh leadership was there at that time, was either trying to save their own skin from both Bhindranwale and the State or killed/confused/caught up between the two. I feel the government handling of this issue both on local and national level was poorly executed.

As I said in my previous post, they should have captured Bhindranwale at that time itself when he used to roam about giving speeches and trying to recruit youth. The matter shouldn't have been allowed to grow to the extent which it did. Why even allow it to reach Golden Temple?
