Damn!
Very well researched work you guys have done. I am glad you pointed out defense mechanism and put some freud's work as well. We have been conditioned from birth by parents who just want to make us as society compatible - to live according to rules and regulations, belief system which takes big toll on people's life specially on self worth, self esteem, lot of personality issues as well. One major part is how important our parenting is, not only for girls but boys as well. They both need to be more assertive for their needs, respectful towards each other, know the boundaries, treat each other as human not objects and lastly be responsible - be responsible for your own happiness, someone not treating you the way it is supposed to be - their is always an option of cutting that toxicity out.

Last but not the least - it all comes from us "self". Be good parents - future or current parents. Do good parenting to your own kids and understand them not suppress, give moral values specially on equality and treating other person in respect; No means NO.

Fantastic job, ladies! This is a very strong and urgent message that we need to spread. We should come together as a community in its truest sense to solve serious issues like these. Kudos for utilising this forum as a podium to advocate for this cause.
Cheers,

Disha!

We certainly don't discount the fact that marital rapes occur both ways and we are against both of them. However, for this topic, our focus was on the violence on the women.

great job guys 👏... Many people have this mentality after marriage it's not rape because they are supposedly husband and wife and they kind of have the rights... but if it's happening without the permission of the woman concerned it certainly is a CRIME... A no means no

This was a really good topic you have written on. There are many points I agree with. I will probably update this post to include more comments at a later time. At this point I want to say to all women and men that no does mean no. That children should learn about their bodies and about healthy relationships.
That women should learn that they are not there to be just someone to be used but are people themselves.
For men to learn that yes they are your wife but also a person.
This cycle will break when parents teach their kids not carry forward the ideas that have caused so much pain that is hidden away.
Get talking. Get listening. A wife who stands up for her rights is not a bad wife at all. A husband who listens to his wife and let's her exercise her rights is no less a man either. In fact he is more of a man! A much better husband and human being. Same for a wife because women can be equally abusive too. They are equal in my eyes in what they are capable of.
