It is okay to be sentimental as long as you keep a fine line between idealism and realism.🤔

Feeling is as important as thinking and reasoning. In my opinion, I would not be the person I am if I did not feel what and how I did and I cannot allow that. Sentiments, all sorts can be both liabilities and assets for us. And I see where you are coming from when you say your trust gets trashed and stuff. So, what I really do is, I don't keep myself from feeling anything at all, but I don't trust people because people are weird and incredibly driven by self-interests. Someone who is sentimental too can hurt me, very much like your friendly neighborhood stalker. Faith and trust and shit, those sentiments don't come naturally to me. Otherwise, I feel a bunch of stuff that gets too much at one too many occasions and no, it is not a crime, feel what you wanna feel, man.

Being overtly sentimental in trying to manipulate or emotionally blackmail other people ought to be a crime 🤓

Some are only cleverly putting on an act to dupe others. Yes that is a crime !
They should join Zee and take up an acting career 😆

😆 some on them can really get on your nerves and make you want to give them a real piece of your mind but then the irritating bawling or sulking that would follow makes you choose otherwise 😆

Yes there is enough sadness and sorrow in this world and those that put on a long face make it worse.
😉
But sentimentality is linked more to attachment and missing someone or something. We get sentimental because we love and yes we should keep loving as far as possible.
Forgive minor trespasses and love. Love has many levels and forms and humans need company to party.
Shakespeare in Merchant of Venice:
In sooth, I know not why I am so sad:
It wearies me; you say it wearies you;
But how I caught it, found it, or came by it,
What stuff 'tis made of, whereof it is born,
I am to learn;
And such a want-wit sadness makes of me,
That I have much ado to know myself.

^^ Loving or missing someone is fine summerbhai but if the sentiments start affecting normal day to day functioning and other people around that person then it can soon turn into an irritant. So I think its best to take hold of our emotions and not let it turn us into a cause for sorrow for those around us. 😛

Being a stone is no answer to a problem or in life, generally. Having emotions is equally important.

People who make themselves like a rock can never be able to be satisfied in things. You require emotions to make you feel human and keep you going. But then it is also imperative to maintain a balance and keep grip on your emotions.

There is actually no perfect answer to this question, everybody has a different philosophy of life. People have the right to live on their terms and you cannot possibly tell them what is wrong and right. People have different values.

So I say. People should live they want to and for themselves. Never for others and nor the way people want them to live

True indeed.
There should be limits generally.
But my problem is the other way, I am not able to love deeply enough 😆
Often we know how much we miss a person only when they are not around anymore.
