Supreme court of India refused to stay the reservation for Jats of Haryana. Do u think they deserve reservation? Jaats in Haryana are one of the most prosperous caste in India. They are the one who show their upper caste status and oppress the dalits. It's mindless to give them the reservation benefit. Reservation was for weaker section not for the prosperous class like Jaats..

there should be no reservations, for Jats or for dalits or for hindus or muslims or for beggars or dogs or any of the other classes, religions.😊

But if people insist on it then there should be reservations for every population grouping down to the nearest one person. Imagine being rich and smart and being discriminated for that.😆

Yes there should be no reservation.

But as it is there why the hell, they are giving it to higher classes. Jats are more powerful than Bramins or Rajputs. But still they are backward now.🤢

at this point of time i really wish Dr. Ambedkar would have been alive. Only he had capability to remove reservation from India. He was the only one who suggested to remove Reservation after 10 years. but here comes the vote bank politics.

In fact there has to be no reservation for any community and that includes Jats also. And Jats have to know that when they didn't get reservation, it is a blessing for them. The reservation for people in a community kills the incentives they have to shine in life. There was a community in Karnataka who once said they need no reservation because they have to find their capability and do the needful to improve themselves. This is what self-respecting people tell! Just look at this way; Anyone has to think this way. When God has given you full capability to do well in life and shine and get what you want in your own way with ease, why do you beg for freebies? A community which clamours for reservation is like the one which begs others to part what belongs to them for survival and that is all the respect the community which believes it can thrive with reservation gets. Note that if a community gets reservation, there are possibilities it remains backward forever.

I am fundamentally against reservations. I have faced this barrier. In Sindh province of Pakistan we have quota system in place where there are reserved seats for rural people and many get into professional colleges with low marks and sifarish etc. It reduces merit based seats.
So I know it is not fair in principle.
The problem with desi countries however is that they are not fair towards all and merit itself means no merit for many. In Pakistan we have reserved seats for women and minorities in parliment. Now if I get into a merit mindset then why do they have reserved seats? Why cant they run like others (which they have option to do so also). Why do we have 1/3 (not sure) seats for women? Its not fair that others are elected and some come on reserved seats.
Then if I think further how the heck a woman or a lets say hindu compete with others who are more well to do and who face less disadvantage.

Therefore to a certain extent its ok however goal should be to end these at some timepoint.
Edit: do not take this in context of jat and India as my take is not based on that. I dont know the background there. lol

If he was not far sighted enough to see the consequences, do you really think he would have been able to remove the reservation system now? To me, he was a short sighted, narrow minded person, driven by hatred towards upper caste Hindus (who ironically helped him to climb up the ladder), who just copy pasted parts from constitutions of various countries. He had no creativity of his own.

but well look from his point of view. he suffered at the hands of the upper caste. it's difficult for the people who suffers something in their childhood. it's from here he was coming when he supported this reservation but he wanted it to be for 10 years. but here we have a constitutional amendment every ten years to increase the duration for reservation. if any of the other strong wud have tried after 1960, they wud have successfully removed the reservation but here we are. the reservation increased so is the list of backward classes simply because of politics.

i read an article recently where the author was talking about whether Congress will get benefit for this step of not. there one Jat from the region said that it is shameful for them because now they also belong to lower caste.
i have also read in history about a caste declaring themselves as higher class so that they can get deserving respect but few years before that caste only demanded the OBC status. it's so bad that in India after independence where the list would have gone down it is increasing.

I m not against the reservation at all. even in US they gave reservation to blacks at one point of time. i m against the point that reservation is given to undeserved people and percentage of reservation. In India we have nearly 50% reservation in everything which is very very very high. and in some states where they give reservation to minorities also it is more than 50%. i think in tamil nadu it is 69%. not sure.
Reservation can be given for limited period , to limited people for a limited spam of time and for lower posts only. 10-15% chalta h but 50% is unbearable. and also in all higher post.

Will any political party have the guts to phase out reservations in the near future? what we get to see is that the list gets longer each year with new additions At this rate we would be lucky if the supreme court ruling to restrict reservations to not more than 50% get followed.
Mayawati had once said that the marks for passing these candidates should also be lowered 😳 I hope she wouldn't mind having her own security personels, surgeons, pilots, fire fighters and others from those who have passed with lowered qualifying standards. In fact we should strictly reserve these for serving our the law makers 😉
