Try AA or rehab. Whatever you do, do not stop cold turkey. You WILL relapse. Also, just don't drive while under influence, no matter if you had 1 or 10 drinks. Just don't do it.

Good luck and I know this will be hard. But, it'll be worth it! :)

There are a few ways to stop drinking.
Anyone who drinks alone is definitely an alcoholic.
Method One :
Moderation. Only drink wine or beer and no hard liquour. And this you have to stop after three glasses at the most.
Should not be done everyday either.
Method two:
Abstention. Do not keep and liquor or alcohol in the house; so no Beer, XO, Rum, Gin, Vodka, Whisky, etc
Do not buy any drinks yourself when dining.
This is not easy as it needs a lot of will power
Method three:
Indulgence or basically Drink more and more until you really get fed up or the Doc tells you that you need a Liver Transplant or have 3 months to live.
Try this if all else fails

Drinking as a vice is not as bad as gambling or drugs. But any vice carried to the extreme is sure death or destruction.
Most of us do have some defects or defaults but not everyone is able to own it and face it squarely.
I am not a serious drinker mainly because too much drinks makes me sick and I feel horrible. It is a lot of suffering for me.
But even alcoholics get a hangover. Russians say after drinking a lot of vodka, they need to drink more vodka the next morning to clear their heads, no wonder many Russian Drinkers do not live beyond 60 yrs.
I get high easily when I breathe slowly, so I have to snap out of it least I become a dreamer, endorphins I guess. Alcohol too provide a lift. Here is an extract :
Alcohol is a fascinating compound. It is a high-energy molecule that can release tremendous energy to the body when it is chemically broken down. Our bodies will 'run on alcohol', though it is an unhealthy fuel for us that leads to depletion of specific nutrients including zinc, magnesium, copper, iron and some B-complex vitamins, among others.
A vicious cycle often ensues when nutritional deficiencies develop. The body's natural energy system becomes crippled and lethargy develops. This can cause a craving for alcohol as the fuel of choice, since it uses a different metabolic pathway to produce energy in the body. Once one begins drinking alcohol the nutrient deficiencies worsen, and this further increases the cravings for alcohol or sugar.

Just give up 😊

Don't make excuses to drink. I gave up. I decided I won't and I don't. It's as simple as that.

There is no withdrawal symptoms and there is nothing else needed but to be able to respect your own decisions.

Some people can withdraw from this addiction by determining to stop drinking and prepare for the challenge by themselves

While some need professional help, medical supervision and treatments.

Which option is better for you depends on your health issues, period of your addiction and the difficulty in giving up.

You got this thought of quitting that is the first step and A consultation might help in choosing a good decision for yourself.

All i would say is...just stop drinking.
Control your self...as they say drinking isn't good for health.
Don't even look at the bottles, throw them,.
I know, its kinda of hard, but ones your start avoiding it..you eventually over come it.
