just stop drinking, throw out all your alcohol now and fight it whenever you have the urge to drink. keep trying, and you'll succeed.

My take on addiction is that you just dont get into it. I never tried alcohol or smoking so there was no question of me quitting.
What you can do is perhaps gradually decrease your intake so that body adjusts to it. Stopping suddenly will lead to withrdawal effects and will not work in my opinion. I understand that people sometimes drink because of problems in life and alcohol acts as a relaxant. Maybe look into those issues if there are any.
These are some comments. Maybe someone who drinks and realizes the experience can explain to you in better manner.

Call the professionals at Alcoholics Anonymous or check yourself into a rehab center.

It's all down to willpower and motivation!

Set goals.. To help you gradually come off the alcohol..

Find a hobby or an activity that can keep you distracted from drinking..

Seek councillor to find out why you are letting drinking take over your life!

If you cannot attend AA meetings in person, try this out: http://www.aaonline.net/ Although, the real life version is obviously a lot better since you will be able to interact with others living in your shoes, face to face. I knew someone who had to go through this route to get his feet back on track.Today he's normal. It's awesome that you realize you have a problem. Many people live in denial until it's too late. Also, do not even attempt to stop drinking all at once, try drinking in moderation, then gradually stop. But keep attending these meetings until you fully stop. Good luck!

Normally people consult professionals with their problems and such, you consulted on a debate forum? How did you find this mansion? Did google guide you here? 😆

Don't know how genuine you sound regarding this post. But why do you have a problem? Do you go out a-lot and end up getting drunk every other day or does the problem lie because of work or relationship issue? Get professional help Gerry ji, and i hope you have good family/friends to support you to overcome your issues and help you through your withdrawal period.

Good luck.
