First of all, I hope you did ask someone for money and eat food!

- I hate carrying money in my wallet and then I end up in situations where credit cards dont work.. I have also had negative balance in my bank account and that does happen yes.. when you live on a grad student stipend 😆 .. I have had to ask money from others in these case, and I hate asking for money... so if I do borrow, I make sure I pay them back as soon as I can. Unfortunately family doesn't accept money back.. but they get love in return. Some close friends refuse to take the exact money in which case I make sure I cook their fave dish for them.

- No.. asking for money is really awkward.. and if its your first time, its more awkward .. and if its not someone you know, it gets even more awkward!

- I am very particular about my principles .. and values and morals.. but I have no shame when it comes to food and when it comes to making someone close to me happy... I will beg and borrow if I am hungry, but will never steal!

Thanks for your concern. I am doing alright. lol. So after going through all your posts, here is my conclusion

1- Almost all of you will be okay with borrowing from a close co-worker and you will return the money asap. Most people will understand and if they were to know they would offer themselves.
2- I am acting over serious
3- Principles are important to you however here few of you do not see role of principles. Let me clarify that I was referring to personal principles where I see and view my action or conduct in a specific manner/set of rule. It has got nothing to do with principles that are applicable to population. If you see it in that context then yes my viewpoint is not a matter of principle in that sense.

Some individual comments but very brief. I know there is not much to debate now.

McNinja, Thank You - I see your point. Some things are given huge importance by some but not an issue for many.
King-Anu, Thank You - Appreciate your input your highness.
boreddamsel, Thank You - Is that you in red and white? lol. I smile a lot and hence lol.
moomin4455, Thank You - Maybe I am like your mother. lol. Give her my regards.
lonely0planet, Thank You - Heartening to see your post. lol. No I know them and they are fine people so problem is me lonelyplanet. Good points.
_Angie_, Thank You - nice plan of action. please check my clarification on principles. agreed with you there.
reeha...k, Thank You - yes clarified the principle part. definitely. those who fast dont eat for full day so yes no big deal in that sense
Gumrah..., Thank You - good to see you here. lol. chocolates dont have that effect on me gumrah.
BirdieNumNum, Thank You - so there is chulbal pandey / robin hood in our millionaire birdie. nice. lol.
boreddamsel, Thank You - lets keep (what i did) that as a mystery. like your take on this issue

you guys are really kind. good people. tc

If the underlying principle is to never accept any favors, especially when it comes to money matters, you should stick to it. In fact, it becomes all the more important to not break your principled stand over inconsequential terms such as a missed lunch. Your stomach would get heavy after that lunch and so would your heart.

Remember one thing every Principles are borrowed from someone else or religion or from experience,or society or you teachers near by u, they have given to you these ideas, but if you feel happy, if you feel good following certain principles then nothing wrong to follow them..if anyone feel /wanna change, they change their principles and ideas and views...😊

Well having principles does not mean that we should not act rationally.
We should allow some variations and adjustments based on circumstances. This is the way to survive and live.
It is our duty to look after our body, not to overfeed it nor starve it. So based on this principle of survival it should override certain other principles like not taking a temporary small loan.
😆
But if one truly and sincerely believes in Divine providence and lives by that principle, so will it be too. But it should not be tried for egoistic purposes.
Best is just be practical and do not trouble poor God.😆

What would you do K, if you left your lunch and wallet both at home :)
KAL seems to reached his conclusion quite early without really getting into the depths of the principles and their threshold like he had mentioned in the earlier post. He did not even reveal what he did . Probably went hungry that day!

I am completely at par with you though I have always wondered what is more important; standing up for and defending our principles vs the people that will affect? If you were in love with someone who stands against your principals what would you choose?

I am reminded of following situation. lol

Lene wala dene wala
Kaun hai bolo upar wala
Woh hai jiske saath
Woh duniya se darta nahi

So tell me what did you do, and I hope you starved to death till dinner time 😆

- What would you do in situation?

I won't starve myself and borrow my money from that colleague of mine I am closest to. If there is no such person or if they are away, there are chances I might return home with a growling stomach.

- Am I getting over serious here?
Maybe. But I see where you are coming from. 😆

- How much principles mean to you?

I believe that principles are not conventional. If I am to blindly follow a principle that others follow and deem 'the right way to do a thing' then I'd would be following a tradition. A person either has a set of their own principles or simply does not. My principles mean my sleep to me. I never cheat in exams and I never lie. That's my two principles. If I do something that does not follow them I might have a problem living with myself.
