If we expect criminal have mercy before commiting henious crime is just like expecting murderer will show some kindness while murder. Here one is killing the honour of woman. Criminal are more brutal as they expect ulitimately no one will catch them. In most cases they kill the victim if they feel they will be caught or the victim will report the case. Statistics say nearly 25000 rape cases reported in india every year and this figure is as low as 10% of total cases bcoz people dont file cases due to social stigma and family pressure which is may not be false in indian socity. Out of that 26% were only convicted by court. In my view crime against woman never a mainstream issue for lawmakers , in election, in the society. Thats why woman have to demand for law, safety and better society. They have to snatch the right to move freely in public space not like in fear to move even at 9 pm. These statistics are there every year , this brave heart girl of delhi force everyone to think and raise question even in this forum we r discussing openly about this.

About reducing crimes or caughting criminals there should invent new types of ideology. But, most of cases criminals gets a easy get away from jail and that's what made them to feel they'll be out. There needs to be harsh punishment for them, punish them as harsh as that they ask for their own death!!!

That's about their heads, I think. We cannot tell for sure. It is a man's way of expressing his mental imbalance, lack of respect toward the female kind and exhibiting their sexual dissatisfaction. 🤓

And yes, because they are so severely troubled in their head, they cannot be moral. They are far from it, even after the act is committed.

Actually people also feel burden of rape lies on females because nothing happens to a man but in a woman's case it becomes evident she's been raped (can tell she's not a virgin, might become pregnant).

Women are viewed as property who can be controlled, protected, stolen. They are never seen as individuals with a mind of their own. No wonder women get beaten up, raped or acid is thrown on their faces to "teach" them a lesson or put them in "their place".

Everybody believes women have certain "limits". Even kids keep dictating to a female what she should do or not do. Even if a female is online, talking freely to everyone or is online late at night or something she's harassed and taken as a loose character woman who's "available" for cheap flirtation.

Crimes against women are mostly hushed up because women themselves feel a sense of shame, are made to hold themselves responsible for attracting such treatment. The "shame" is for the female. Not for the male who perpetrated crime.

Nobody ever says why men raped. It's said men are bound to rape (men will be men). It's asked why a woman wore what she wore, went out or couldn't be careful even within the house. Mostly women are accused of provoking or seducing men or putting themselves in danger.

Comments of politicians, scientists and some reporters in Indian media have amply shown what people's mentality is with regards to women. Even in case of laws they are concerned about women "misusing" laws rather than being stricter on men who do such acts.

Violating a woman is considered okay, "no big deal" and a sign of masculinity, show of power and teaching "lesson" (read putting her in her inferior place) here.

Indeed. People don't think about what they do. Maybe/Probably a harsher punishment would scare them of thinking about raping or other crimes. I am actually against the death penalthy. I wish those guys get castrated and their names get published so the people of the country who are able to see this is wrong and end them. I think that would be the best punishment. Those guys deserve no other.
