Mr. Shukla ... U didn't mention abt Mars in ur first post!! Though u posted in the thread related to Mars explorations ... U used the words "SPACE EXPLORATIONS" and "Astronauts in space" !!! And there are definite TANGIBLE gains of Space explorations... I don't need to repeat myself...

Mars project is a part of space explorations... It is a part of research and Knowledge...During this research many other inventions take place ...which benefit the humans in the long-term... U are seeing only the near short-term benefits... see the big picture... U never know wht scientists may find there,may be its soil, its chemicals may lead to further inventions or discoveries.. it is a like a chain reaction.. one thing leads to other..Y ES science doesn't believe in "May be's" but it does believe in Questioning and reasoning... When there are questions, there are several possibilities .. and one of the possibility is the life on Mars... to question this, we need research and money... I say again.. its not merely abt the life on Mars.. but the research and development in this sector... Previous generations couldn't think abt the technologically advanced lifestyle we are having now... similarly the PRACTICAL possibilities in future are not yet completely visualizable to u, to me , to any of us at the moment.... but it will put gains to humanity in the long-term... for no knowledge and exploration whether of space discoveries or history is a trash!! U study History...explore it... put research and money on it.. SIMILAR situation is with space explorations ... Knowledge is not ABSTRACT... it leads to the the tangible benefits which u are talking abt..

Lastly abt my memory being short or long or anything else .. IT is ME! .. it shouldn't matter to u... U have nothing to do with it ... U have personally attacked me in the last line.. which is against the code of conduct of this forum.

It is OK Mr.Shukla😊😊... As far as a person remains within the code of conduct of this forum.. it is ok with me.. After all I have to admitt.. u ARE an open-minded person..

The decision is urs as i don't know ur reason for boycotting my debates on DM!😕.. I make a conscious effort to follow the code of conduct strictly .. we are all debators here.. debating within limits of respect to each other and make our point across.. But its ur decision..and i can't do anything abt it...

we have this attitude in science of finding the soultion first and then looking for question...

in polymer chemistry and other fields.. u first prepare a compound.. then find what it actually contains
Plastics had a similar origin..I can give other similar examples ..
space explorations are also used for medicinal research among other uses..

so first we will explore mars and find information.. then we will decide what to do with that...

we may not realise its importance now..or else the entire exploration maybe futile..

who knows?? it is good to be optimistic

Actually from whatever I have heard, Going to Venus is more important 😉

With the launch of discovery last week. I was thinking of the same. Is space travel so critical ? Don't we have enough problems on EARTH that need more attention. By that I mean Poverty, Genocide in Darfur & Rwanda. Malnutrition, Premature deaths, AIDS and ofcourse global warming.

It feels like a waste of my tax paying dollars. When I feel there are problems that need more ugrent attention. I find it hard to justify space travel when I hear lakhs of children dying for food. Everthing seems futile to me if we are unable to save little helpless orphans all over the world from dying of diseases and malnutrition.
