How persuasive is..

This forum was made a while ago but i think it is much more active now and we have a wonderful dev team here and regular members..i just wanted 2 no that..

HOW PERSUASIVE IS THE DEBATE MANSION?😉

i mean..loads of you come here and i just want to know that do any of you go out of this forum changing your opinion on a certain thing? or do you stay with what you think and think that your thoughts are right and nothing can change that?

Just wanted 2 no you guys thoughts..

if this topic is silly..then dev team can close it..

I like this forum because here you get to learn about many aspects of different issues. I don't think "Change of mind" occurs immediately, but discussions in this forums certainly makes you re-think about the issue. My purpose here is not to change anyone's view, but to give a new perspective on an issue. During this process, I do learn a lot. I am an open minded person and if you give me a good reason on an issue, you might be able to change my views.
I do believe it's hard to change own perspective because we are so ingrained with years of information. Before we even know who we are, unconsciously, our brain develops notions regarding various issues. We hear our parents talk, we see it on television, we hear it on the radio or learn in class and end result is...our hardcore beliefs. Your own personal experience also shape your thoughts.
These discussions are good in a way because we are challenging our own ingrained beliefs..something that many people are afraid to do. It's a comfort spot...you don't want to leave that comfort spot.
