Pakistan ban won''t affect ''Agent Vinod'' revenues: SaifPlease read the above article here...http://www.india-forums.com/bollywood/hot-n-happening/24407-pakistan-ban-wont-affect-agent-vinod-revenues-saif.htmApparently in this interview Saif has made some negative comments about the Pakistani Army and ISI...
Are his comments justified?
Should Pakistan have banned the movie'Agent Vinod'?

Lets take all the bond movies, they always portrayed Russian militia behind all the conspiracy during the cold war time, KBG was the bad boy.

I don't think there should be any fuss around his statement. I'll support Saif here, not because he is an Indian (ok a part of me might be biased). Even if you talk logic, both the countries are not in friendly terms since the creation of Pakistan, we fought 4 wars, ISI and raw are the bad boys here. Pakistan is totally run by its military power and the coup is nothing new there, ISI is a big hand behind their military operations, and most of all we are talking about an INDIAN movie 😃 chill guys they meant revenues, govt wants power.. you take popcorn and enjoy the movie

I don't think he said anything wrong.

The movie is fiction. It is for entertainment, not to reflect reality. It should not be interpreted as he is making direct allegations. Saif can do what he wants in films.

From Pakistan's perspective they feel the portrayal is unfair and biased. The feel it reflects poorly on the country, it is their prerogative.

Truth be told - I think even most good Pakistani civilians know that the country is in strife because of the bad guys managing to infiltrate high levels of government and intelligence. Many Pakistani people themselves have made films, written articles on how terrorism & corruption negatively effects the livelihood of good civilians.

Well I think Nawab was being naive. I am personally against banning or censoring movies for trivial reasons (I hated them for banning TDP😡) but this sort of outburst from a seasoned actor was quite uncalled for. And why did it seem as though he was boasting about shooting in Pakistan without permission?😆

aww ...come on...if USA can boast about catching Osama Bin laden over there...without Pak's permission...why can't Saif boast about shooting a movie..😆😆
But jokes apart...I do feel that when celebrities make statements they should be extra careful...I believe that a common Indian and a common Pakistani are the same and they don't want to fight...except maybe for cricket😆...but irresponsible comments from the celebrities on both sides of the border...unnecessarily riles up the citizens...
Having said that...i do feel that what Saif said abt the Pakistani Army and ISI was right...The army and ISI are doing a big disservice to the Pak citizens who are not getting their due from these organizations...I wish the Pak citizens would realise that the army and ISI are not their friends...and most of them do...lets not forget that Osama Bin laden was living right under the noses of the Pak army for 6 years before he was turned into fish food by US..
The Pak government can ban as many movies as they want...it won't change the truth and it won't stop the people from watching the movie...

Saif is also in a difficult position.
If he sides Pakistan or is not harsh with them he loses the Indiam Market which is bigger 😆.
But these actors are basically all commercially minded and few care about politics.
Arts should be above politics but movie themes can cause riots.😆

Well he is saying what everyone else is saying 😆 and what is always shown in the movies and documentaries and news reports about Pakistan 😆 At the end of the day .. he is an ordinary citizen .. he has an opinion and he has the right to voice it ...

By saying all this... he has kept his movie in the lime light and he has successfully taken attention away from the fact that half of his family in Pakistan are in the army.. and that one of them is apparently the number 2 in ISI 😆

Well done, Saif. You and your family have done so much for India, you guys have all the rights to brag.

First things first - though the OP's link points to IF, the interview was not given exclusively to IF - in case if there was any misconception.

Second, as someone said earlier, like it or not, Pakistan (on paper anyway) is still a sovereign nation. They have right to ban any movie they want. Not that it will matter to Bollywood.

Third, if India wants, they can ban a Pakistani movie in India.

Wait! What? Indians are not crazy about Pakistani movies? Oh, ok. Pakistanis actually see Indian movies?? Who knew? Now it all makes sense why this is a (non)issue.

Attacking Saif's family roots and his relatives solely because you do not like his comments and abhor India tells a lot of the attacker. Nothing good, unfortunately.

Agent Vinod seems to be a reflection of reality with cinematic liberty. If you don't like, there is always Harry Potter for you.

In a world when Shiv Sena banned My Name is Khan just because SRK batted for Pak cricketers involvement in the IPL - this doesnt surprise me.

First of all, what Shiv Sena did was wrong and disgusting.

Second, nice hyperbole but no, they did not "ban" the movie. They tried to create a disturbance in the otherwise peaceful environment.

Third, if Pakistan bans a movie solely based on its content, there must be something that hits too close to home. Nothing wrong with the ban though. Everyone can come up with their own justification for ban.
