Saif's comments on Pak Army & ISI justified ?

I don't think he said anything wrong.

The movie is fiction. It is for entertainment, not to reflect reality. It should not be interpreted as he is making direct allegations. Saif can do what he wants in films.

From Pakistan's perspective they feel the portrayal is unfair and biased. The feel it reflects poorly on the country, it is their prerogative.


Truth be told - I think even most good Pakistani civilians know that the country is in strife because of the bad guys managing to infiltrate high levels of government and intelligence. Many Pakistani people themselves have made films, written articles on how terrorism & corruption negatively effects the livelihood of good civilians.

I am personally against banning or censoring movies for trivial reasons (I hated them for banning TDP😡) but this sort of outburst from a seasoned actor was quite uncalled for. I thought his statement came across as arrogant..He might just make me not watch the movie. i find his statements really offensive

Well he is saying what everyone else is saying 😆 and what is always shown in the movies and documentaries and news reports about Pakistan 😆 At the end of the day .. he is an ordinary citizen .. he has an opinion and he has the right to voice it ...

By saying all this... he has kept his movie in the lime light and he has successfully taken attention away from the fact that half of his family in Pakistan are in the army.. and that one of them is apparently the number 2 in ISI 😆

Well done, Saif. You and your family have done so much for India, you guys have all the rights to brag.

First things first - though the OP's link points to IF, the interview was not given exclusively to IF - in case if there was any misconception.

Second, as someone said earlier, like it or not, Pakistan (on paper anyway) is still a sovereign nation. They have right to ban any movie they want. Not that it will matter to Bollywood.

Third, if India wants, they can ban a Pakistani movie in India.

Wait! What? Indians are not crazy about Pakistani movies? Oh, ok. Pakistanis actually see Indian movies?? Who knew? Now it all makes sense why this is a (non)issue.

Attacking Saif's family roots and his relatives solely because you do not like his comments and abhor India tells a lot of the attacker. Nothing good, unfortunately.

Agent Vinod seems to be a reflection of reality with cinematic liberty. If you don't like, there is always Harry Potter for you.

Second, nice hyperbole but no, they did not "ban" the movie. They tried to create a disturbance in the otherwise peaceful environment.

Third, if Pakistan bans a movie solely based on its content, there must be something that hits too close to home. Nothing wrong with the ban though. Everyone can come up with their own justification for ban.
