@Dewdrop - Is there a reason why you are asking to get this topic closed because people are debating with you? I hope you realize that this is debate mansion and the primary purpose is to debate, argue, contradict. Even if you are 'just kidding', sometimes people are 'just debating'.

That being said I have already PM silent-thoughts to edit all his posts. The humor attack was uncalled for. But I do wonder - is there also reason why you are expecting that all your debatable posts in this topic be taken lightly and not seriously debated, but you take Silent-thought's obviously humorous posts seriously?

However, I will not be closing this topic because people are 'debating'. People are free to debate if they wish and see a point in doing so. If you see a problem post, report it.

And the reason why I requested the closing of this topic is not because I fear debates, but dont want the debate to take an ugly turn.

We will see if and when it gets to that. I have faith that most people here on DM know to debate properly.

You can yourself go through the last few pages and decide for yourself if its healthy debate or not. And if you really feel this topic has scope for more healthy discussion, you can leave it open.

I do not believe in censorship. I do not close any topic unless absolutely necessary. It can die on its own. I PM silent thoughts to edit his posts in this topic well before you even requested this topic to be closed. If you are referring to SCO_Beezies posts then, I see no problem with her responses. She was disagreeing with your points.

I personally feel this topic has been debated enough and there is more misunderstandings and understandings.

If that is your feeling you are free to stop responding at any time.

I am not expecting my debatable topics to be taken lightly, but many a times people take wrong intention of my posts and find it debatable when that was not my intention while typing. I'm more of a spontaneous person and type things that come in my mind at that time. And sometimes people take offence and accuse me of things I might not even have thought while typing.

That is a part and parcel of debates. Everyone is misunderstood or does not convey words correctly at times. Part of debating is articulately clarifying misunderstandings to the best of your ability.

As far as silent-thoughts are concerned, if you read again you will notice that the tone of my response to silent-thoughts is exactly the same as his. Just one line I was serious, i.e the last line about God, as I personally dint like usage of God's name in such a manner.

You probably need to reconsider the tone of your voice and choice of words if there are so many issues with being misunderstood.

Regarding reporting a post, I just had a doubt - what if someone bashes me personally and point fingers at my character just because I carry a particular opinion, and what if that post is 'liked' by the MOD herself, will she ever taken any action against it? If the MOD herself supports someone who is bashing, can I expect a fair treatment from her inspite of the fact that she hates me? Just clarifying 😊.

First and foremost I don't hate you or anyone. I merely requested not to be referred/addressed on a personal basis, because we dont see eye to eye - so I choose to remain distant. Formal associates should refer to me formally/impersonally, closer acquaintances and friends have the privilege of personal addressing. I'm not sure why assumptions are being made about my social preferences.

Either way, I have taken action against posts I have 'liked', if you can explain clearly why exactly I should take action.

If you still don't trust my decision or feel my personal/social preferences cloud my fair judgment then there are plenty of CM/GM other moderators you can contact and present your case.

I'd say go through SCO_Beezie's post once again. Maybe you're taking a rather harsh perception of that post. You might remember that you were in a huff when you perceived that I have called you a third 'party' in the debate when I had actually said that you are the third 'person' to raise objection. So, my request would be to read the post again, think with a calm mind and then decide whether the post is actually insulting your character or is it merely pointing out a certain generalisation committed on your part (by writing the word 'all') and which SCO_Beezie felt you should have avoided as otherwise it leads to loss of credibility [of that particular argument made by you].
