The three possible conclusions I draw are
1) The architect (Ariadane) and the point man (Arthur) incepted Cobb and planted an idea to rid him of guilt.
2) Cobb went into limbo and is trapped in his dream
3) The entire film is a dream probably Cobb's or Mal's.

It could be 3. But thats like asking if we are living a dream.. so assuming that we are living reality.. we assume the reality of his being an dream extractor and then having executed the job returning to his kids....the japanese guy kills him and his ownself to come out of the top layer of that dream.. thats indicated when he is shown touching his gun.

That is one of the ambiguous puzzles the film leaves us with. If you see my three possibilities above there are various explanations for the train. If the layers of dream shown in the film are real then the train is a result of Cobb's subconscious. However, if the film is another dream layer then the train can be Cobb's or Mal's subconscious. Another possibility is that Ariadane is led to believe she is the architect of the dream, but the architecture is really Cobb's.

Nevermind.. he could be if the entire story is a dream in itself. 😆

Cobb being an architect was a pure hypothetical statement based on the probability that the entire movie is a dream. That is a bit too extreme though.

Too bad DVDs have not arrived here yet, and there are no halls to show foreign movies either. So, I too will have to refrain myself from peeking into this thread until...the next month. 😳

Yes I loved the part where the blue guys and their giant flying birds hide behind the huge mountain rocks to ambush and attack as the enemy soldiers and huge robot soldiers pass by through the jungles below.
