What's the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules. Which is why I have to steal it.

So how many people have seen inception so far? What did you think of the movie? What do you think of the concepts of stealing/planting ideas? What do you think of the conscious/subconscious/superconscious theories delved into the movie?

Most importantly - what did the last 10 seconds mean to you?

This by far is the biggest mind messer of a movie since Donnie Darko!!!

My daughter watched it on IMAX. She absolutely loved it. She wants to go watch it again with me on Sunday when I am home. She refused to give away the ending despite me asking her. I shall refrain from peeking into this thread till Next Sunday. Hope the movie is worth it.

I watched it on Friday// its good... leonardo is up for oscars this year I think!!! the 10 seconds u mean that shows him back and accepting his kids after hving shed off all the guilt he had been carrying for many years..
This is sci-fi based veri loosely on Freudian theories.. so as long as it is fiction.. its good enough
i think this was good. more stylish than classic. It should have added more lychian intrigue to this plot.. chris looked like taking off from where he left batman!!
Kudos to both Chris and Leonardo though kubric (is dead now) or Lynch would have been better to pace the mood...

Ah, the Inception!! It was an awesome concept. The open ending, however, scared the heck out of me.
The movie made me wonder how we concieve an idea in the most basic form, especially if almost all can be traced back to a source. Perhaps, the invention "circle" was meant to show so, and I didn't really comprehend. Anyways, the consciousness and infinity association was interesting as well. So was the how do we know our reality question. Do we really know? I don't know. I like their idea of as long as we know how we got here, it is reality and not a dream. Then again, we don't really know where we came from when we are born/ human inception. So, we could all very well be living a dream in which our projections intersect. lol. I am sure there was lot more in the movie, which I can't remember right now. Perhaps, I will remember if someone else writes.
On a superficial note, the architecture was truely beautiful. It is wonderful that the writer was able to bring humor into the story at different points... the dream big gun scene was funny; so was the it was worth a try kiss scene. 😆 and the seemingly infinite stair-case.
I didn't get the train thru the city scene though. Whose projection was it? Geez, I can't even remember the character names -- the girl's or the main guy's? I thought the wife told the girl that the girl always felt like she was on a train to nowhere. 😕 Meaning, it was the girl's? But why would she put that train in her architecture... or did the sub-conscious creep in?
*Edit: stealing ideas = plargarism . I am pretty sure it is illegal. So, you know what I think of it. As to planting ideas -- well, as long as the source doesn't know... what's the harm?😆 Caveat -- as long as the idea is positive.😊
By the way, the whole fischer empire had to be broken 'cause they were becoming an energy monopoly???😕😕 why did he have to return to the US? could he not have his children taken to a different country, with him?😕😕
Ok, am done writing for now. 😳

But the totem. They never conclude if the totem topples over or spins infinitely aka we do not know if this is Cobb's reality or a dream.

The three possible conclusions I draw are
1) The architect (Ariadane) and the point man (Arthur) incepted Cobb and planted an idea to rid him of guilt.
2) Cobb went into limbo and is trapped in his dream
3) The entire film is a dream probably Cobb's or Mal's.

That is one of the ambiguous puzzles the film leaves us with. If you see my three possibilities above there are various explanations for the train. If the layers of dream shown in the film are real then the train is a result of Cobb's subconscious. However, if the film is another dream layer then the train can be Cobb's or Mal's subconscious. Another possibility is that Ariadane is led to believe she is the architect of the dream, but the architecture is really Cobb's.
