There might be some short cuts like worm holes so that we dont have to traverse the whole distance. Technology wud also have to enable humans to withstand the rigors of space travel at that speed. Teleportation sounds good.

But from the perspective of the guy in the spaceship, he is not taking any time at all. It's called relativistic time dilation. Time moves slowly on the spaceship traveling at the speed of light.

I always found that hard to grasp - time as perceived by the traveller ! what about the biological time of human cells of the traveller? would they stop ageing 😕

Per my understanding, yes. Take a pair of twin, make one go fly a shutter with a speed near to 80% of the speed of light. When he returns from his journey, he will find his twin to be aged more than him. 😕 Doesn't make sense to me, but that is what is supposed to happen. I could be wrong though. Mr. K can clarify/explain the issue in details.

To my mind, two concepts are incomprehensible:
a. The concept of Everything
b. The concept of Nothing

I like this! How about whether these two points coincide? Into nothingness perhaps? Or infinity? 😲

Thanks POH. Time dilation is quite a complicated subject, even for physicists. And most of the stuff exists only on paper and beyond human experience.

@Angie: In reply to your question, please read upon muon lifetime and muon decay:

One word. Singularity!

What you effectively said is to collapse Everything into Nothing. That's pretty much what happens in singularity. Nobody wins (not Everything and not Nothing) in that "fight".

I'm not insignificant. I'm extremely self-absorbed and consider myself very significant.
