SNEHA! 🤗 It's so good to see you here! 😃

Regarding the numerous Gods..I always believed they are there to help us understand the different forms of God. For example, people who have serious financial problems tend to look up to Lakshmi Maa, those who have a lot of problems in their life often pray to Ganesha. These to me are all the different forms of one Supreme Being but everyone just looks at it from different aspects.

Someone mentioned they are interested in Krishna Consciousness. One of my closest friends is a Hare Krishna devotee so I go to the mandir with her every now and then. I tend to find a lot of white people there (a lot of converts) and their beliefs are slightly different. They believe that Lord Krishna is their only God and others like the forms of Mataji, Ganesha, Shiva etc are all something called 'demi-gods'. It's a concept that I don't personally agree with but I respect their opinions. One thing that I really like about the Hare-Krishna devotees is that most of them are young people getting involved. They are not forced by their parents to come, neither do they just visit the mandir during a special occasion like Navratri, Shivratri etc..they are there almost every week even though a lot of people travel about an hour or so to get there. 😊

Ah Krishna Conciousness, about 10 years ago, I used to be quite a staunch believer in the KC philosophy, that's when I first started to become facinated with religion and theism. Krishna Conciousness is basically Gaudiya Vashnavism, which originates from the 16th century, founded by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, believed to be an incarnation of Krishna by KC followers. They believe that Krishna is the original form of God rather than an incarnation, and that Vishnu is an expansion of Krishna, all other Gods are considered demi-gods.

I enjoy visiting the Janmashtami festivals held by ISKCON, there's always huge turnout, the Ratha Yatra in London also pulls in massive crowd, though I've never attended one.

The Vaisnavites see Vishnu as the supreme Godhead.
Saivites see Siva as the supreme Godhead.
It does not matter much as once one is immersed in whichever form the individuality disappears.
It is more important to be able to reach that state. I find it hard to forget Krishna.

Am infulenced many things from Shree Krisha.....First thing noticed that, Krishna is not serious at all. Krishna's life accepts no limitations. Krishna is free, limitlessly free..he enjoy the freedom...and I think he is against repression...he accepts life unconditionally... He does not shun love...being a man he does not run away from women...He always teach us that One is one, without the other....😊

When Krishna sang and danced with the Gopikas and Gopis he was only about 5 years of age, much younger that even or Debs.😆
After a while Krishna left the Gopis and headed for Mathura and they were all heart broken and kept pining for Krishna to return. After a long while Uddhava brought a letter from Krishna to them but none could read because some were unlettered and one said that her tears would soak the letter and another said that because of all the pining for Krishna her letter too would catch fire if she touched it. So Uddhava read the letter to them.
Although the gopis experienced Krishna consciousness all the time still they longed to see the physical form of Krishna like bees attracted to nectar. Truly they had madhura bhakti , and at the mention of the name of Krishna Radha would be lost in bliss.

Nice topic Summer. :)
Love of Radha Krishna is eternal and most beautiful. And the love Yashodaji and Devakji had with Krishna is incomparable.
I love reading Bal Krishna stories and seeing them on TV as well.

I once heard someone say Krishnaji is their heart and Ramji is their conscience. Lord Krishna tells them what to do to make themselves and others happy, while Ramji tells them what is the right thing to do in a situation. For me, it is also like that. Love both of them so much.😊
