In my opinion the moral principles are not bound by times/Yugs........somethings remain wrong whenever they took place..........but u are right.......I will never be able to think like a person in Treta yug.........thats why I will never be convinced........I am from kalyug..........It disgusts me that when it comes to trust between a husband and wife the wife has to give pareeksha........If my husband accuses me of something I have not done.and asks for a pareeksha......I am out of his life......no pareeksha for me......but if I am wrong i will say sorry to him and try to make amends.....same goes for my husband too.........its a two way street.........so its difficult for me to understand...........but I loved watching the serial Ramayana because I take it as a story to teach life lessons to us...........what we learn from it depends on our perception........thats why I chose not to introduce my kids to these epics...😊

See the beauty of Hinduism is the fact that it doesn't make us fanatics.........we have the liberty to question our books , our prophets if we think that something doesn't make sense.........unlike some other religions.....not judging those religions at all............so its because I am a Hindu that I am able to question and because Lalitha is a Hindu that she is able to answer my questions without being mad ....

I can see where you are coming from, but I have grown up since a child loving the characters of these epics and I as I have grown older, I researched more into all kinds of versions of the puranas to get the 'truth' and as a result believe the incarnations of Gods to be flawless, just my perception.Smile I feel that they did what they did because they had to. The biggest lesson I derived from these scriptures is to do your duty as the situation requires. No rule or law can apply to every situation, as Lord Krishna told Arjuna in the Bhagawad Gita. Some situations require a law to be broken, even if it is accepted by society, to establish Dharma. And if God supports you in breaking that law for that situation, as Krishnaji supported Arjuna in fighting against the Kauravas, or Ramji himself did those actions, then they can never be wrong, because God can never be wrong, and to me, Ramji and Krishnaji are Gods as much as they are characters in the puranas. Before we do anything in our life, we must stop to think...would God approve of our actions. If he had been in our place, what would he (Ramji or Krishnaji or any other incarnation) have done? I believe that if we life our life by those thoughts, we can never go wrong in our actions. Kali Yug is the age of doubts, suspicions, and disbelief, so we must work our way across that and follow the true path to God.
But then again, I take these 'stories' to be factual history and not mere stories, so again, perceptions differ.
But coming to the main point, yes, BRC and RS did a magnificent job in bringing these epis to life.Smile

Thank you so much.😳 That really means a lot. I just enjoy scriptural debates, can never get enough of them.😆 The Ramayan Forum and Jai Shri Krishna Forum on IF are just filed to the brim with such debates where my friends and I let out our stress of the day by debating (and venting out our stress at such characters like Kans and Ravan😆).

Lol, can totally understand you. When I read my initial threads on IF I also cannot contain myself.😆
Thanks so much by the way, really sweet of you.Smile

Exactly...it is not a sin in Hinduism to have questions about the scriptures. Of course, fanatics exist in every religion but from what I've seen, less exist in Hinduism. Back in High School, whenever someone questioned something from the Bible or Quran, some of my Christian and Muslim classmates got really offended while the others tried to explain, but I never minded much when people questioned the Bhagawad Gita or other Hindu scriptures.
Yeah, agree with you, I don't mean to judge other religions either, but religions needs space for questioning as well, esp if someone is genuinely confused and not intent on just bashing like some people are.
