I'm gonna be completel honest. The editing and the mix up on words has actually been done pretty well. However our national anthem should not be tampered with. Next time someone wants to make an attack on India, we know which version of the anthem they'll be singing. The idea behind the 'anthem' may be decent but tampering with the anthem..that's something I can never make myself support.
Something they mentioned in this vid that I remember hearing about and that I was appalled with. RGV's visit to the Taj after the incident. Such people only think about one thing in their lives-How to make money? More money? and even more money? :@ People in your own town are grieving the death of close ones and you are going to check out the scene to see how you can make a good movie?! How disgusting!

I think the greatest problem with this version is that RGV has not altered it to be patriotic or because he cares deeply. He has done so solely to promote his movie. In that sense it is highly offensive that he uses emotional sentiments for his selfish goals.

However, this is really an aesthetic and meaningful mix. In my opinion the national anthem is not absolutely untouchable. If a person who is genuinely committed to the nation and has acted to serve the nation, reimagines the national anthem based on personal sentiment to the nation - it would be acceptable to me at least.

However, this is not the case. But I am still apathetic because I'm thick skinned and tend not to be stirred by these antics.

Fair enough. I am not absolutely sure what the technical definitions are. For me remixes, covers, rearrangements, parodies etc are all forms of reinterpretation. Sometimes its offensive and sometimes its not. For example many artistes enjoy it when someone like Weird Al Yankovich parodies their song. On the other hand many tribute covers have also been rubbished by the old musicians or fans - Like Etta James did not like the fact that the likes of Beyonce sang 'At Last', 'The Smiths' purists hate renditions of 'How Soon is Now'.

Changing lyrics is acceptable in rearrangements even if it is cover or remake. MIA's Jimmy is radically different lyrically and in arrangement, but it is a tribute to the eighties disco era and was a major dance single from her album Kala.

Yeah, I guess Alanis maybe parodying Fergie to an extent. But the genius is in the fact that she changed a popular BEP song to something soulful and melodic - that is both vocally amazing yet howlariously funny. To me if an opera chooses to cover Dragostea Din Tei its an honor. It maybe funny, but its brilliant. Unlike TI and Rihanna who make me gag whenever they whine 'Live Your Life' on the radio. That song ought to be banned for false advertisement. This might sound horrible, but "Live your Life' makes me wanna go Chris Brown on Rihanna.

One of the major reason for Vilasrao Deshmukh to resign frm CM post was RGV accompanying him to the attack spot.. People were completely enraged.. Bt comin to the point I completely agree with you.. I support Supreme Court decision here.

RGV always does something b4 his release date which brings the movie in limelight but coming to the second point.. No doubt wut is shown in the clip is true to certain extent but this cud have been done in another way. Any person who is patriotic wud not in dream try to reimagine Anthem in this way..

My Point Of View is Revolutions can b brought through a lot of many things.. for example Rang De Basanti.. It showcased a lot of loop holes our system has but in a manner dat doesn't challenge dignity of the nation and it was successful in leaving people's mind thinking while moving out of the cinema hall..

One General Question To Every1.. What are people supposed to do? Generally according to rule wenever National Anthem tune is played.. one is supposed to respect it and give it standing ovation but here wut if it is played in Cinema Hall.. Are people supposed to stand up in respect of National Anthem tune wen words are completed misused?..

Suddenly question clicked in the mind.
