I think they wrote up a law against doing changes to national items such as national flag, anthem etc and if that includes changing national anthem I gotta agree with the justice's opinion. but I think given our lawmakers habit of not being precise I think they didnt invision this, and the justice might have overextended the law as usual
My Personal take
I am sorry that is not re-interpretaion of the national anthem, that was brutulization of the national anthem
When you re-interpret, you dont go around changing the lyrics
If you want re-interpretation, this is a perfect example(word to the wise: If you are faint hearted, skip the second video😆)
vs
If you want to understand interpretation, listen to every song that Adam Lambert sang this year in American Idol and compare it with the original
If you want to talk about the social situation you can go Sahir Ludhwanvi's way and compose original's such as "Jinhe Naaz hai Hind pe". We still do have people like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar or Prasoon Joshi who would have done a good job at that.
This was just a lazy attempt at garnering publicity for the film by changing words in the national anthem
I have been very much in favor of freedom of speech, this is not about the national anthem, this is using things to get publicity. i wouldnt mind him singing the national anthem in a different tune with a different video portraying how we all have mucked up this beautiful country across the board. No problem whatsover, that for me would be his interpretation and I would respect him for doing that too, but this is just a cheapo attempt at selling the movie
