Where did you spend your childhood?
In different places as my father was in the army.
What is your academic background?
I am B.Sc in Chemistry.
Why did you give up playing the role of Sujal,in Kahiin toh Hoga?
I wasnt getting creative satisfaction and i was feeling stagnated in life..Though there was money and fame,I didnt want to play that character with dishonesty.
tell us about your role in CID.
CID was completing 8 yrs.So i was askd to give a spl appearence.It was a 5 episode role.
Why did you take up deal ya no deal?
I never thought of anchoring but when i saw the American format,their host and the Sony TV people,I couldn't stop myself from doing it.I took up anchoring to enhance my personality.
From acting,you've staright taken to anchoring,are you nervous?
I am so nervous that in my first episode I drank 6 bottles of water(Laughs).But after the shooting got over,I was happy.
What are the special features in the latest edition of Deal ya No Deal?
It's a new series.Previously,it had 20 briefcases now it has 26..The set format is changed and the style of playing the game is also changed.
Did you recieve any movie offers?
Yes,I did but unless I feel like working in films,I'll never do it.
how do you fell when people still identify you as Sujal Garewal?
I feel very gud becoz i think there might be sum honesty in my character that people still remember.People know Rajeev Khandelwal but they love Sujal Garewal..
Do you feel that DYND series will also recieve the same popularity as the previous ones?
I dont worry about it becoz thats the work of the channel and the director.I only think of getting it the right way..
What sort of a person is Rajeev Khandelwal?
I dont have any style statement. I am a very simple person.
What qualities do you think an anchor should have?
He shouldnt think himself something very big,instead he should think and feel as a normal person.
Till now,we have been seeing you in serious roles only.Dont you feel like working in comedy serials?
I'm doing a comedy serial and i find that I'm not bad in it.(Laughs)
Do you change yourself in any way?
I would have loves to,but i dont want it.I want to be the way God made me.
Who inspires you in your profession?
In terms of success-Shahrukh Khan, and in terms of acting-Big B.
what are your upcoming assignments?
LRL,HDHD,DYND.
You have quite a number of crazy fans.How do you manage them?
They manage me.(Laughs)I really like it.
What do yu want to do in future?
I want to be happy,look myself in the mirror and say,'I love you Rajeev'.(Laughs)
What is your view on Calcutta?
I have a gr8 relation with this city.I was honoured with the Kalakar Awards here.This is a city where i want to relax myself for a couple of days and most of my fans are 4m calcutta.
