There is nothing pretentious about Akshay Kumar. The man likes calling spade a spade even if it happens to be about something that is related to his own self and nature. While the Shaukeens chronicles the journey of three ageing men letching at hot women, Akshay says in real life to every man stares at good looking women.
"Every man is a tharki," says Akshay and adds, "When a male sees a female, different thoughts come into his mind and that is natural. A male has it in his DNA. What matters is how he behaves with a girl. Every girl likes being appreciated for her looks and likes receiving male attention. If you tell her in a nice way that she is beautiful, she will like it but if you say it in a way that is cheap, they will certainly find it repulsive. So if you ask a girl out in a nice way, it will certainly be appreciated."
Akshay who plays himself in The Shaukeens has reportedly impressed one and all with his Akshayisms. In the movie of his many admirers one of them happens to be Lisa Haydon who is also the leading lady of the film. Talking about his choice of casting Lisa, Akshay says, "I had seen her in Queen and liked the way she performed. We needed a girl who is sexy and Lisa fitted the bill."
Akshay is also all praise for Lisa's dedication. "She is a wonderful actress. She will never forget a single line."
While many films that has had men letching have turned out to be downright vulgar, Akshay made sure The Shaukeens had no cheesy elements in it. " We haven't crossed the line of vulgarity. I wanted to make a clean film and we have done so with The Shaukeens," says Akshay before signing off.

^ can't agree here.. it's depends on ur mentality..
