how does it all work?

I saw the viewer's choice solo award winner already dressed and ready to perform in the prep videos. Are they going to record that on stage and not do it live?

Also, somebody with user name whitelight88 has posted videos from DID1 where one can see the cameras rolling. Do the celebrity guests see it like the way it showed up on those videos? I don't know if they can see the expressions at all...

Any thoughts that would like to share and enlighten us?

whitelight on youtube is their costume designer I believe (that or lights im not sure)

But when the celebrities go, (or anyone on set for that matter) see the contestants performing, as well as tv screens that show what we are seeing

And those contestnats... maybe they were doing a run through with their outfits, or a rehearsal... Not too sure on that one

Thanks ! but I remember Geeta and Remo telling Shakti and Parvez after their Wall dance (Amitabh Bachan episode) that they could not see any thing because they were not sitting in the middle. So, if they watch it live then would not the cameraman (specially the one who takes closeups) come in the way and they will miss the expressions? I think I am really confused (like the party at Terrace kind😉 ) so, please ignore this question if looks too stupid...

I think at the top corners of the stage (both sides) theres two screens
I thought whatever was being shot they could see on those screens :S

Those videos are the final dress rehearsal videos before the real shoot, as they have to do a rehearsal run with their costumes on... He is the costume designer...

Regarding the viewers' choice acts, I posted this in another thread, so copy pasting here...

Last season also, they had the shoot in two days, and so Saumya appeared in two outfits interchangeably.. I believe they had the viewers' choice awards the first day, and so the repeated acts were done that day, and then the finalists performed the real finale day. I think the Masters also performed the first day, as they came in different outfits for the results announcements and were always sitting in the audience - their outfits were totally different for their dances and not something that could be changed into and back during the show... So they might be following the same format this time, and then show both days mixed, and so we will see Saumya in two different outfits in between!! They also do that so that they can show first day's already edited part while they are editing the finale day's parts for airing...

There are a few fixed cameras and some moving ones.. The fixed ones are placed such that the shot is taken from different angles.. And they use shots from all of them and edit them for the airing. There wont be any camera on the stage in front of the dancers, but would be moving cameras to shoot from different angles from the ground... They make sure not to block the views of other cameras - these camera moves are also rehearsed prior to the actual shoot, where the Masters show the camera crew where the camera should be and at which angle, for each dance move... The only performance that was an one camera take with a special camera was Amar's final solo performance - last Saturday, and it was first time on DID for an act to be taken as one camera take...
