Latest Interview

1) You joined Farah Khan when you were 15 years old. How was it working with her?

Geeta Kapur: IT WAS A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE AS I AM WHO I AM TODAY ONLY BCOZ OF THAT WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

2): How has Dance India dance changed things for you?

Geeta Kapur: I AM A RECOGNISED FACE TODAY... ITS WHAT MOST TECHNICIANS WHO WORK BEHIND THE SCENES DONT GET... I ALSO HAVE REALISED THAT MY RESPONSIBILITIES HAVE INCREASED SINCE THIS SHOW HAS BEGUN, AS A LOT OF PEOPLE FOLLOW WHAT WE SAY, DO OR ADVISE AND SO ONE HAS TO BE SURE OF WHAT ONE IS SAYING OR DOING.

3): Who is your favorite contestant in DID season 2? Why?

Geeta Kapur: HEHEHEHEHEHE THATS NOT FAIR..UNBIASED AS I MAY WANT TO BE .... I AM RESPONSIBLE IN MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR MY TEAM MEMBERS TO REACH THE TOP SO THEY BETTER BE MY FAVOURITE...

4): Does it upset you that Dharmesh considers Remo his God?

Geeta Kapur: IN THE BEGINNING IT DID KIND OF FEEL STRANGE BUT THEN IT ALL FADED AWAY IN TIME.... HE IS PART OF MY TEAM AND AS A TEACHER I CANNOT BE BIASED...

5):Rumors are that you and Terence are at loggerheads with each other. Please comment!

Geeta Kapur:HAHAHAHAHAH WELL IF STANDING UP FOR MY TEAM AND DEFENDING MY CONTESTANTS MEANS IM LOGGERHEADS WITH ANOTHER MASTER THEN I GUESS IM LOGGERHEADS WITH THE WORLD AND THEIR BELIEFS IN MY TEAM.. THIS IS BEST ANSWERED BY TERRENCE SIR HIMSELF.

6): Do you think the elimination decisions are fair on DID?

Geeta Kapur: IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT ONE THINKS.. WE HAVE WILLINGLY HANDED THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS TO THE PUBLIC AND SO WE MUST TRUST IN THEM AND BELIEVE THAT THEIR DECISION IS THE BEST AND FINAL...

7): Which contestant would you like to have back on the show?

Geeta Kapur: I THINK IT IS TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW..TIME TO KEEP MOVING ON ..

8): Most of the best performances on the show have been the western forms like modern-contemporary and not the Indian forms. What do have to say about that? Why do you think that the Indian performance havent got the Lux best performance of the day title as many times as the contemporary performances?

Geeta Kapur: THE ANSWER LIES IN THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO GAVE AWAY THE LUX BEST PERFORMANCE..... AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I HAVE TRIED HARD TO BRING AS MANY INDIAN DANCE STYLES AS POSSIBLE TO THIS STAGE OF DANCE INDIA DANCE.

9): Which has been you favorite performance on DID season 2? Who should be the winner of DID 2 according to you?

Geeta Kapur: I HAVE TOO MANY FAVOURITES BUT IT DOES NOT COUNT... THE WINNER WILL BE DECLARED BY THE AUDIENCE SO MY JOB IS TO ONLY MAKE SURE THAT THEY SEE THE WINNER IN ONE OF MY CONTESTANTS....

10): With the influx and popularity of western dance forms, the Indian classical forms are being ignored. Comment!

Geeta Kapur: I DONT THINK ONE CAN IGNORE THEIR OWN CULTURE. JUST BECAUSE ITS OUR OWN WE ARE TAKING IT FOR GRANTED... WHICH IS WHY OUR DANCE FORMS ARE NOT TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY BY THE WORLD...

11): Describe Terence and Remo in one word.

Geeta Kapur: TERENCE...........STYLE ICON
REMO........... MACHO

12): One thing that you would like to change about DID?

Geeta Kapur: ELIMINATIONS.. I HATE IT!

13): What advise would you like to give to the your aspirants?

Geeta Kapur: ITS 99 % HARD WORK AND 1 % LUCK SO KEEP WORKING HARD BELIEVE IN GOD AND ALL WILL BE WELL.....

I wonder who had taken this interview !! 😕 Especially at question number 8 .. 👎🏼

There have been barely any Indian styles attempted.. Indian styles attempted were Kruti's(that got a POTD) , Binny-Amrita's 5 styles in 1 routine , Shakti's Bharatnatyam, Nikkitasha's solo in dance for life before the top 12 that can possibly NOT get a POTD and what else ??! 🤔 Ofcourse Geeta's special..

These were the only Indian ones attempted and the person taking over the interview goes "why do you think western styles have got more POTDs" .. ???!

seriously i also thought exactly the same thing when i read that...wht a silly question...we anyways hardly had indian/ classical dances attempted and when they were performed very well, they got POTD like kruti's classical dance...

am sure an indian/ classical done complete justice to and performed well wud have def won POTD but no one really attempted them much...

like tashu's classical before top 12 in dance ki kasauti was very gud but in the same epi, binny had performed o re piya so mr muscle tough move of the day went to binny which was very well deserved...

Some media men are just THE limit.. I wonder if they have an idea of what they ask..
