Kamasutra redefined on DID

This weekend viewers will be in for a rude shock when two participants from Terence's toli will perform an explicit dance which can be termed nothing less than kamasutra. The duo Jai-Vrushali's Kamasutra act will have the mahaguru, co-mentors, participants and audience in a tizzy

Since the past few weeks, master Remo has been earning most of the brownie points for his out of the box experimentations and presentations. From Bollywood masala to chau to malkhamb, Remo has clearly proven that he is totally a dancer's delight. Mentor Terence Lewis just misses it by few points every time'or so the feeling. And according to him that prompted him to break all barriers'social or otherwise on Indian television!!

This time Terence's performance through Jai and Vrushali got him many scowls, frowns and raised eyebrows. Terence, in a bid to outdo the other masters, choreographed a scorching sensuous number on the song 'Hai rama' from the movie Rangeela. This is the first time that the DID stage witnessed a performance so steamy. Not only was the audience in a daze towards the end, the grand masteR was also seen becoming visibly uncomfortable. When the act was over, there was a stunned silence that left the production team wondering whether they should edit the entire performance, which will affect the contestants direly.

But Terence was vehemently seen defending the act saying it was a pious form of dance and the same should be respected, not looked down upon. This caused an altercation between the grand master, masters and the production team. The final verdict seems to be against Terence since Zee TV does not want to get rapped for showing censorious content on a family viewing channel.

A source from the show informs, "The dance was quite explicit. Since the channel and the show is for families. Considering the type of viewers of the show we will either edit some portions or just take the long shots of the performance. We will try to make it as viewable as possible."

"As a channel we will definitely not show explicit movements / mudras since Zee TV is a family viewing channel. Having said that I don't oppose what Terence did since he is an artist who has freedom of expression. The contestants also performed gracefully. So even if some movements are edited, we will ensure that the essence of the performance is not lost," said a channel spokesperson.

Was this dance Viewable for FAMILY AUDIENCES??? Why would Terrence decide to do this here?
What do you think?

Dancers are pushing the limits on Dance India Dance

With every week, and every performance, the top ten contestants of Dance India Dance are just getting better and better. More than their acts of versatility and perfection, it's now boiling down to content and presentation. Which translates to out-of-the-box ideas, next to impossible stunts and extraordinary moves. While dance master Remo has been earning most of the brownie points for unusual style which have turned out fantastically in the form of Bollywood masala, chau and malkhamb, this week, it's master Terence's performance through Jai and Vrushali that's got him rows of raised eyebrows. In a bid to outdo the other masters, Terence took the risk of choreographing a pretty hot number on the song 'Hai rama' from the movie Rangeela. Well, it let off a lot of steam, and left grand master Mithun Da quite uncomfortable! As the finale comes closer, the dancers are pushing the limits. While this week will see one of the strongest female contenders, Bhavna Purohit out of the show, the other contestants will compete fiercely, even if that means crossing a line of fire. That's right, post Salman Ghouse's fiery Chau act, which got him maximum votes, others are putting themselves through rings of fire! From Bollywood Salsa to hanging mid- air from a ring to balancing from a rope, the rush to outperform each other has seized the contestants and the mentors as well. While the channel's stressing on safety, Ghouse in his defence says, "I was severely reprimanded by the channel after a couple of my acts, although they were outstanding. If I don't have a problem risking my life, why is it a cause of worry for the others?" Another example is that of Mangesh Mondol. Insecurity led him to do a senseless stunt that landed him with a bloodied fractured hand, and then, Siddheshe's 45 Kg Kathakali costume caused him to lose consciousness.

"Everytime I see these children perform terrible stunts I hold my breath and cross my fingers. I have told them innumerable times, that in the bid to win the competition they should not risk their lives. There are still about 6 -7 weeks left for the show to get over...I don't know what else they will show me. I just pray that they are in one piece when they return home after the show," wishes Mithun Da.

Watch the contestants get more fearless on Zee TV's Dance India Dance.

The competition is getting heated between Remo and Terrence. Terrence is the best I'd say, but Remo in the last couple of weeks has out performed him as the article says.

Looks like not only is the competition between the contestants getting heated, but same with the choreographers.

The article wrongly quoted that malkhamb was performed by Remo's team when it was actually preformed by Terrence Toli's Mayuresh. He also got a salute from grand master. And Masala Salsa was also Terrence's performance.God the articale is totally one-sided.

what's the need for such performances? That is really disgusting. The girl's parents would watch that man....
Though Terence and Vrushali said 'sorry' to Vrushali's parents after the elimination(I saw it on Zee news), why do it in the first place?

Well !!! I am totally disappointed in Terrence ..it's evident that he is aware that he cannot even begin to compare to Remu.! And to think that Terrence is defending this nasty dance and with a holy song too.I am not even a Hindu and yet I think its disrespectful.

terrence is just frightened like 😆a girl that he will be outdone by Remu.

I agree that remu's dancing is delightful to look at..he doesn't need to let his dancers degrade themselves to be tops.😳

And as far as I can see, all the insults aimed at Remu stems simply from the fact that he is dark skinned... SO WHAT PEOPLE !!!😡

what they perform is dance form. see in these days what we have seen in our serials or in news, this dance is nothing compare to them. even what we have seen in our hindi movies, same thing is there. so don' t see anything wrong in it. they perform really very well and terence choreograph in a fantastic manner.

i read the article. it was a one sided article. why should terence afraid of remo? all the dance form mentioned in the article was executed by terence not remo. so A BIG FLOW in the article. also common this a dance type. what they perform is our very old tradition or say a dance form. as some one wrote, what we have seen now a days on the tv like in serials, news etc. this is nothing compare to that. what our hindi serials shows, whole family watch it together. so what is wrong in this dance. why should blame terence and his toli??

Yea agree with all of you guys that the article was one sided

Terrene's choreography is better than Remo's and he always tries to bring out new concepts. Plus I think he knows much more about Dance than Remo and Geeta.

But what about the Kamasutra dance that they did?

Was the appropriate for TV audiences?
Should he have gone that far, to show something new?
