End of an Era!!

From saving the country from the clutches of Bankruptcy in the 90s to steering India towards record economic growth as PM, Dr MMS's whole life was dedicated to India.

A giant among pygmies, the world listened when he spoke. Rest in Peace Dr MMS, you will forever be remembered as one of the greatest statesmen this country has produced. OM Shanti! 🙏

RIP Dr Manmohan Singh. 🙏

India lost an intellectual, one of its economic reformer, and one of its honest leaders.

His government introduced welfare schemes such as a jobs program for the rural poor, In 2008, Singh struck a landmark deal that allowed peaceful trade in nuclear energy with the United States for the first time in three decades. The following year, he was guest of honour at then-US President Barack Obama’s first White House state dinner.

Months before his death, Singh said at a press conference that he did the best he could as prime minister, “I honestly believe that history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media or, for that matter, the opposition parties in parliament,” .

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team entered the field wearing black armbands on the second day of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia, which is being played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 27. They did so to pay respect to the former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92.
