Well in that case you can say Hamas was responding for years of apartheid and genocide at the hands of the Israeli government. Israel started this apartheid long time ago? I am not using this to justify Hamas. But if you are justifying on the basis of response not initiation. And their response also includes massive and massive deaths of indiscriminate bombing and the intentional targeting of innocent civilians. They are intentionally targeting schools, fleeing civilians, and healthcare facilities. They shut off food, water and fuel for the entire Gaza strip.

FYI: Many compare Modi's activities in Gujrat during Gujrat Riots to Nazi-type acts. Granted that was not when he was prime minister. But who cares right? As India still voted for him?
