I somehow think Yashaswi Jaiswal will make room for Virat Kohli today!!

Dropping Shreyas Iyer after his innings in the first match is not a good thing!!

England haven’t found a way to tackle a powerful Indian lineup who are always a force to reckon with in home conditions. The trial by spin exposed a serious chink in their armour in the recently concluded T20Is and they don’t have any respite even in the 50-over format. The trio of Jadeja, Axar and Kuldeep will once again test a tentative English batting lineup irrespective of the game being held at Cuttack which usually produces belters. England got off to a flying start in the first game courtesy their openers but lost the plot once as the innings progressed. Brook has been found wanting against high-quality spin. Can the talented batter turn things around? The 21-year-old Jacob Bethell played a composed knock in the lower middle-order and that augurs well for the visitors. But, they will need more as a whole from the batting group if they are to pose a threat to the Men in Blue.

In reply, India showcased their prowess with the bat as they conquered the target of 249 with consummate ease. But, the hosts will want their skipper Rohit Sharma to return to form before the ICC Champions Trophy begins. Kohli missed the last game due to a sore knee but he is fit and raring to go today.

He's baaaaaaack. All signs point to Virat Kohli returning to action for India in the format that always seemed to unlock his very best and somehow that very best also seemed very effortless. Now the question is, who drops to the bench to make way for him? Rajan Raj, a member of our Hindi desk, is in Cuttack and he has an update on proceedings: "Among India's bowlers, Arshdeep, Shami, Kuldeep, and Washington have been practicing the most. Kohli received a roaring welcome, much like yesterday. He is practicing alongside Abhishek Nayar. Harshit, who claimed three wickets in the last match, is yet to be seen on the field."

England, meanwhile, appear in calibration mode. They want to play attacking cricket - Phil Salt plays like he has a deep and undying hatred of the white ball - but they haven't quite figured out how to respond when they lose a few wickets and come under pressure. This is one more opportunity for them to learn from their mistakes and take those lessons to Pakistan and the UAE where a much bigger trophy will be up for grabs.

Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, IndiaPitch and conditions: A reprise of the 2017 thriller?

Cuttack hasn't hosted any ODIs in half a decade but when it last did, it presented itself as a batting paradise. India and England have already experienced these highs when they put up totals of 381 and 366 in 2017. The game is unlikely to come under any threat from the weather with clear skies expected; there might be dew though, given the temperature drops from 30C at 5pm to 23C at 9pm.

India vs England, IND vs ENG 2nd ODI Barabati Stadium Pitch Report And Cuttack Weather Forecast: India will look to seal the 3-match series against England when the two sides lock horns in the 2nd match at Cuttack on Sunday. With Virat Kohli set to return to the playing XI, all eyes will be on him and Rohit Sharma, both of whom have had a dismal last few months in the longest format.

With Kohli set to return, there will be a toss-up between Shreyas Iyer, who bailed India out of a tough spot in Nagpur with a crucial half century and Yashasvi Jaiswal on who will make the team. With the pitch expected to offer turn, India might be tempted to give Varun Chakravarthy a chance here.

Weather report for IND vs ENG

According to AccuWeather, the temperature is expected to hover around the early 30s throughout the day with the afternoon temperature expected to be 32 degrees which will make it pretty hot and humid. The temperature will have a steep drop in the evening, going down to 20 degrees while at night, it’ll be 18 degrees

Pitch Report | Deep Dasgupta and Graeme Swann: This is a high-scoring venue. 63 and 64m square boundaries and 73m hit down the ground. I will do a knuckle test first, it’s not hard as the last pitch we played at and it's cracked so it might spin a bit in the last 30 overs. While the Sun is out through the day. I think the ball will come on nicely. I feel the pitch is a bit abrasive. It might slow down in the second half of the first innings. You might want to bowl first and there might be a bit of dew in the second half. The pockets at mid-wicket are short so spinners will have their task cut out.

Just In: Varun Chakaravarthy has just been given his cap, from Ravindra Jadeja. The mystery spinner bamboozled the English batters in the T20I series. They found him difficult to read and he will once again pose a threat.
