2.15pm The pitch for today's game looks like the "Premadasa of old", according to Matthew Hayden at the pitch report. He expects it to be abrasive, and for spin to play a big role.

Muhammed Riyas: "SKY should get his chances to prove his candidature. Never a doubt in his caliber, counter attacking ability, technique, etc. and he could be India's X-factor in WC. But he is definitely short of a 'big/impact' innings in ODIs and this is the perfect platform to do it!"

Piyush: "SKY has to play. He is the 15th man in the WC squad. This could be a good test for him."

Shardul Thakur "What a perfect day for the team. Starting our innings day before, Rohit and Shubman batted brilliantly, and KL and Virat took over from them. Amazing performance, and the bowlers took over from the batters after that. We felt there was something happening around good length, back of a length, and might as well do something with it. I felt, under the lights, the ball was doing a bit more than during daytime. We have done this in domestic [cricket] and we are Test cricketers. We know how to wake up and put up a good show. But we have never played [ODI games] back-to-back, so it's a new challenge for us."
