Fredricks surreptitiously looked around and then asked Vivek-- vivek, tujhe kya lagta hain? kya Tarika Muskan ko goli mari thi?
Vivek: (after a deep thought) mujhe..... aisa nehi lagta hain sir,kyu chalaigi woh goli?
Devyana came slowly and told---main bilkul sahmat hu, mujhe kisi bhi haal me ye vishwas nehi hota hain ke Dr. Tarika ne Muskan pe goli chalayi thi.
Vivek: lekin Devyana, Muskan bhi to Tarika ka hi naam liya hain, aur unke khilaff...
Fredricks: aur to aur mujhe kabhi yakeen nehi hota hain ke Daya sir jhut bol rahe hain.
Vivek: (with a very thoughtful face) achchha Devyana, tumhe maloom tha?.... matlab .... kabhi Dr. Tarika ne kuchh batayi...... unka aur Daya sir ke....... relationship ... ke bareme?
Devyana: nehi...... kuchh ..khas.. to nehi... batayi.. lekin....
Suddenly abhijeet entered there with a grim face and aksed--- kya ho raha hai yaha pe? ha?
Fredricks: nehi sir... woh
Abhijeet: Vivek,kam chhorke tum sab log yaha pe kya discuss kar rahe ho?
All cringed with embarrasment & couldn't speak anything infront of Abhijeet's stringent enquiry.
Abhijeet was furious---tum log yaha pe gossip kar rahe ho? ye gossip karne ka jaga hain? jao jake kam karo.
--yes sir. Fredricks & vivek went from there and Devyana was about to go but Abhijeet called her--Devyanaa
Devyana stopped but didn't answer.
Abhijeet came in front of her and looked at her with a glowering stare. Devyana could understand that and sometimes she was squinting at Abhijeet. After sometimes he said-- ye CID bureau hain,yaha pe koyi personal relationship ke bare me baat karna... mana hain, samjhi tum?
---yes sir. Devyana answered very feebly
Abhijeet: jao, jake kam karo.
--yes sir, Devyana went out of the room.
Abhijeet was panting in an unknown bitter yet worried excitement.He himself wasn't fully aware why he behaved so gruffly with all but..
ACP: Kya huya Abhijeet , sab thik hain? ACP suddenly entered into the room & asked Abhijeet
Abhijeet: yes sir.
ACP: tatera ka sketch ban gaya hai?
Abhijeet: nehi sir, abhi tak bana nehi, fredricks aur Devyana hai waha par, bante hi inform karenge.
ACP nodded his face with much worry and then told--dekhte hai ke 2001 finance minister ka case me kitna progress huya hai. He was about to go but abhijeet interrupted-- sir Daya to abhi tak aye nehi.
ACP: aye nehi!!!! kyu??? kuchh inform kiya usne?
Abhijeet: nehi sir.
ACP: phone karke dekho.
Abhijeet called Daya but Daya's cell didn't respond---sir woh cell utha nehi raha hain
ACP:(with a stern face) ab phir se use kya ho gaya??? shayad ghar pe hain, landline me phone karo.
Abhijeet called again at Daya's landline but this time also no one responded--nehi sir, koyi bhi phone utha nehi raha hai.
ACP: utha nehi raha hai??? ye kaise ho sakta hain? Abhijeet main Daya ko jitna dekh raha hu, mera rongte khare hote ja rahe hain, woh pehle kabhi itna irresponsible nehi tha,Bureau me aye nehi aur.. dekha ek information tak diya nehi..... dimag kharap ho gaya....he couldn't finish as vivek came--sir ,
ACP: ha vivek
Vivek: sir, head quarter se DIG shamanand sir ka phone aye hain, aap ko bula rahe hain
ACP: ha chalo.
ACP took the receiver and continued-- hello sir
DIG: ha pradyuman,I hope ke tumko woh letter mila hain
ACP: kaun si letter sir?
DIG: humne ek five member committee form kiya hain, woh Dr. tarika wala case suljhane ke liye, to aaj teen baje aap ko aur Dr.Salunkhe ko head quarter me ana zaruri hain.
ACP:(with a displeasure in his voice) siiir,kya Dr.salunkhe ko ana zaruri hain?? aise...
DIG: Pradyuman , Dr.Salunkhe ko ana isliye zaruri hain ke woh aap ka forensic department ka head hain.
ACP: thik hain siiir,
DIG: o.k? time pe ajana.
ACP: yes sir, surely we will come by 3p.m.
Both disconnected the phone and ACP now nodded his head with despair---- ab mujhe samajh me aya ke Daya kyu bureau me nehi aye hain.
Abhijeet: kyu sir?
ACP: (with a shrill shriek) zarur Tarika ko console karne gaya hai woh,
Abhijeet was silent.
ACP now continued but with a sad voice--kabhi socha nehi tha ke Daya aise...
now Abhijeet interrupted ACP--sir aise bhi to ho sakte hain ke hum use galat samajh rahe hain,sir..... aise.... bhi... to ho sakte hai ke..... usne sach hi bola tha... aur
ACP: tumhara kehne ki kya matlab hain? itni sari saboot aur Muskan ke kehne ke baad bhi tum ye keh raha ho ke Daya ne.... ACP stormed in anger
Abhijeet: sir,hum Muskan ko vishwas kar rahe hain, par Daya ko kyu nehi?
ACP gave him a reproving glance & then continued-- kyuki Muskan ki pas jhut kehne ki koyi waja nehi hai, lekin... Daya ki.. pass.. waja hain, hain jhut kehne ka.
Abhijeet: sir.. woh kyu jhut kahega...
ACP: kyuki pyar huya hai useeeeeeeeeee, ACP shouted.---mujhe tab se hi shak tha jab baat baat par Tarika Daya ka tarif karti thi.aur ACP pradyuman ka soch kabhi galat nehi hota hain,
Now Abhijeet swallowed hard and then told-- sir... sirf pyar hi to... kiya.. hain ... usne....aur hum to use..
ACP this time went berserk in rave---- to karne do use pyaaaaaaaaaar, lekin CID se bahar jake, samjhe Abhijeet, CID se bahar jake. He gave emphasis on the last line and then strutted out of the room.


[Head Quarters] at 3.p.m
A committee had been comprising of five members--DCP Devraj Sahay, DIG(CID)(south) Shamanand sher singh,Expert Analyst Kritika Sharma, DIG (CID)(South east) Vishal Goyal & Forensic Expert Dr.Shivanshu Hattanghadi.
ACP Pradyuman reached there by 3.p.m, also there was Dr. Tarika, she stood there as the prime accused.As ACP entered into the room he once scowled at Tarika & emitted the ray of fire through his eyes and then he turned his face away with disgust.
The room was silent & as ACP entered into the room DIG Shamanand said-- that's a good time pradyuman, but where is Dr. Salunkhe? Aap dono ko hi to teen baje ki ander pauchh jana chaiye tha.
ACP Pradyuman was a bit abashed & said-- sir, shayad woh traffic jam me .... mujhe maloom hain sir ke hamare liye ye koyi excuse nehi, lekin.....
DCP: hmm, thik hain hum aur 5 minutes wait karte hain, uske baad hume meeting ko age barana hoga.
ACP:(with a very humble voice) certainly sir, mere khayal se jitna saboot hum ekattha kiye the, woh aap ko hum de diye
Forensic expert Hattangadi: yes, I think so , but....... still there is some doubts jise clear hona zaruri hain.
Everyone was watching their wrist watches and was wincing in disgust as they had to wait for Dr. Salunkhe to come.
Finally DCP Sahay spoke out--- hum meeting proceed karte hain, jab Dr. Salunkhe ayenge tab hum unka statement sun lenge,
ACP: sir,...
DIG Goyal: yes, I think he is right.
ACP(with much reluctance & worry) thik hain.. sir, jaise aap log thik samajhte hain.
DIG Shamanand: O.k, now, Dr.Tarika,at first you tell us what happened on that day, kya huya tha?
Tarika was silent, she couldn't understand what to tell, how to start.
DIG Goyal: boliye Dr.Tarika, aapne kyu goli chalayi Sub-inspector Muskan pe?
Tarika was silent,not a single word she could speak out infront of them.
Analyst Sharma: Dr.Tarika, dekhiye batana to parega hi,She poured some drinking water in a glass & gave it to tarika, please.
Tarika was hesitant & said with difficulty--nehi, main thik hu,
DCP Sahay: to bataiye.... kyu chalayi woh goli?
Tarika sputtered-- sir, main goli nehi chalayi .
Everyone was smirking at Tarika's comment & slyly glanced at each other.
DIG Goyal: dekhiye Dr.Tarika, we hope ke aap ek pakarta huya criminal ki tarha bartab nehi karenge,after all you are from CID, jo kuchh bhi kiya hain, usko straight confess kijiye, ye kam se kam aapka samman thora sa to bachaiga, you should have enough guts to confess what crime you did.
Tarika's voice was shivering a little & then she swallowed hard & turned to face the accuser--- sir, main kya confess karu jab main kuchh kiya hi nehi?
Everyone was being irritated and sighed with despair.
Analyst Sharma: to pher aap us waqt kya kar rahi thi, jab muskan ko goli laga tha?
Tarika mumbled-- main holi khel rahi thi.
Sharma: achchha?? kiske sath??
Tarika was about to speak but...... what could she say.If she said that she was playing with Daya .... then.... Daya would be ....in trouble, how could she......nehi, main Daya ka naam nehi bata sakti.....
DCP sahay:(with a strindent voice) kya huya??? boliye kiske saath holi khel rahi thi aap,
Tarika was totally nonplused, she couldn't understand how to tell them a good lie.
DIG Shamanand: Dr.Tarika,aap ek paucha huya criminal ki tarha baartab kar rahi hain, jaldi bataiye kiske sath holi khel rahi thi aap.
DIG Goyal: usi ke sath to nehi ... jise shayad aap bachane ki koshish kar rahi hain....... Miss.sharma, aise ho sakte hain ke jo Dr.Tarika ki sath thi ya pher the, wohi...
ACP was startled,for the first time he was feeling scared
Tarika shrieked out--nehi...... nehi..... mere sath koyi bhi nehi tha, main holi bhi nehi khel rahi thi.
Sharma: to pher aap kya kar rahe the us waqt? she frwoned sharply at her
Tarika: main..... maine hi .....
DCP sahay: ha bataiye..
Tarika: maine hi ...... Muskan ko goli mari thi.
ACP Pradyuman kept his eyes upon Tarika with stark stupefection.
DCP Sahay: kyuuuu??? aisa kaun si dushmani thi jiske waja se aap itna ghinona aur sharmnak kadam uthayi??
Tarika: woh..... main......
Analyst Sharma was minutely watching Tarika and finally told---aap sach nehi bol rahi hain...
Tarika was desperate & was rasping--- nehi madam, believe me , main sach bol rahi hu, mujhe Muskan pe bohot gussa aya tha,woh mujhe aise kuchh batayi thi... mujhe sahan nehi huya aur main..... she was panting for breath.
ACP was surprised to see tarika confessing the crime with so much ease & spontaneity.
DIG Shamanand: lekin what's your motive? dekhiye aap ek chota sa bachcha to hain nehi ke gussa aya aur goli chala diya!!!!!,kya chhupa rahi hain aap?
Analyst Sharma: sir, mujhe to ab lag raha hain, ke goli aur kisine chalayi thi ya pher chalaya tha, jise dr.tarika bachane ki koshish...
Tarika was restless--nehii... nehii madam, main hi gunegarh hu, please, jo bhi saza aap log mujhe denge, mujhe manzur hain. She cringed at the floor finishing her words.
---saza ki baat to baad me hoga, pehle pata to chale usdin exactly huya kya tha. everyone turned their head towards the door and saw Dr. Salunkhe there.
ACP: Salunkhe!!!!! itna late(whispering)
Dr.Salunkhe: sorry sir, main traffic jam me phas gaya tha, aur sachhai ko sabeet karne ke liye saboot lane me bhi bohot time chala gaya, aise kya kare, humara yaha to sachhai ko ye sabeet karna parta hain ke your honour main sachchai hu..... to pher..
ACP was totally embarrassed to see Salunkhe's way of talking infront of much senior officials, but he couldn't resist him infront of them &...
Salunkhe: anyway sir, main aur time waste nehi karunga, sidhe ye bata deta hu ke... salunkhe stopped as someone tapped at the door.
DCP sahay: yes coming...
Caretaker: sir, Sub-inspector Muskan ayi hain,woh aap logo se kuchh kehna chahti hain.
DIG Shamanand: Sub Inspector Muskan!!!!!, yaha pe koyi Inspector rank ka officers ka hi entry nehi hain to pher....
Forensic expert Hattangadi: sir, mujhe lagta hain usko hume entry dena chaiye..
DCP sahay: lekin....
Analyst Sharma: ha sir,is case me woh bhi juri huyi hain, to I agree with Mr. Hattangadi.
DCP sahay: (with much reluctance) o.k, andar lao.
After few minutes Muskan entered into the room and stared at Tarika...
Analyst Sharma: ha, to sub inspector Muskan, Dr.Tarika ne aapna gunha ko confess kiya hain....she confessed that on that day she shot you, now what you have to say ??
Muskan was totally confounded,stupefied, floundered.... and gawped at her with extreme astonishment.
