How about a Prequel to CID, based on the characters of Pradhyuman and Chitrole. Both of them studied together in same college. How both of them ended up as Police Officers. Pradhyuman was studious and Chitrole was mischievous.

The story happens in late 1960s or early 1970s.

I don't think they could be in college in 70s. if they were say of 18 years in 1979 (when you start college), then they were born in 1961, meaning they are above 62, they should have retired by now.

Also Chitrole is a doctor, he would have studied in a medical college unlike ACP who would have been in a general college.

You setup could be true assuming they were in same school

Pradhyuman had a college going Son in 1998. He is a grandfather to a teenage child. I mentioned about DCP Chitrole not Dr.Salunke.

In college Pradhyuman and Chitrole would have been rivals. But teamed up to solve crimes.

Rivalry would have been like that of the characters of Akshay kumar and Sunil Shetty in the Movie Waqt Humara Hai.
