You know a few years ago I would take offence to that, but honestly let them do that. And I have a few reasons for it:

If the PH is informed, they'll try to give CID a proper closure. Given the recent history, there is about a 75% chance that they'll fail and do something that'll make the finale a laughingstock. I would rather it just quietly disappears, then that ever happening.
Saying goodbye is the hardest thing possible. When avid fans find out that CID is going to end on xyz date, there will be petitions, rants, messages to the PH, messages to the actors, messages to the channel, and so on and so forth. I would rather that fans of CID be known as those who let CID go quietly and with it just being taken off air one day, there will be less of this, as I see it, than if there was an actual end date.
Sony has not been kind to CID. The PH shoots an episode expecting it to go on air next weekend and Sony just decides not to air it. I don't want a situation where the PH shoots the finale and Sony never airs it. In fact Sony hasn't been kind to a lot of shows, but CID is in a category of its own.
Finally, what can a finale really be after 21 long years? And would it really be enough? Like would you or I be sufficiently happy to say bye to CID? I doubt it. I still lament that the CSI finale was crap and yet that PH probably thought it was giving us a brilliant ending. The CSI NY finale was better, but even then I still am not happy because it wasn't up to what I wanted, which in reality even I don't know. My point is, even if the PH got their act together and shot a stellar episode, even if the channel aired it, even if fans just agreed to let CID go quietly, would we be happy? Isn't the whole point of a finale to wrap up everything so that fans feel happy letting the show go?

I am 100% sure CID will be back soon.😃Sony won't let go their longest running show so easily, even though they don't promote the show much. Its a temporary set back, relax people. Be positive.👍🏼

Noticed again repeat of Jan'18 episode today. So seems there is no hope of new episodes of CID??!!!

@Shreya, I agree with all your points. But you doubted that what will be the ideal finale of such a show ? Will it be good ? I agree to that. What I wanted to say is, I don't want finale as a story episode where there some case is involved. Ideally my finale should be like that republic day special CID where whole day there was nothing but CID on tv but of golden episodes & actors spoke about their experience & some behind the scene things like that. I think that should be the finale with proper advertisement. This show fan should remember with last episode what a great finale it was. About fan msgs, I think if they decide to quit, they will quit. Many popular shows ended even with fans requests not to.

@ Ms.S.K. - I have a feeling that CID will start again in September. Dus Ka Dum is ending either this weekend or next weekend, then it'll only be Indian Idol. KBC is going to be weekdays again if I'm not wrong and Salman can't do movies, DKD, and BB all together so DKD has to end. Once it does then Indian Idol will probably be moved to DKD's slot, so that CID and CP can return on the weekend.

@ Kulasya - I feel another good finale would be fan directed episodes all day. They open it up to fans to write them stories. They choose like 10 of those stories, invite the fans down to assist in the direction, and then air those episodes. What a unique way to say good bye. Fans not only get to see the finale episodes, but they feel like they were part of it even if their story wasn't selected or they didn't write a story. And just imagine the trend CID would start with this type of a finale. No show has ever done something like this and it would be an amazing way to prove CID is the first of its kind in every sense of the way.

@Shreya, Nice Idea this. But for the story part the stories should really be good & I doubt how many serious fans will send serious stories like this. The image of CID from 2010 is so OTT that even after they stopped airing those episodes, I fear they will receive maximum stories like that. Plus why I don't know they are not willing to give chance to new writers & they are not ready to even have a communication regarding this & willing to read the story (The creative members of PH I am talking about) . They just want to stick with their group for like eternity. It's so college life type behavior & I don't like this other sort of nepotism in them.

The thing is your suggestion is nice but first of all I doubt if they will do it, & if they do, it really should be memorable. I fear the otherwise.

I have been checking the sonyliv channel last whole month and now I have just lost interest. This is very annoying. Whether they want to air it or not, can't they tell the fans that? Absolutely 0 coverage on their Twitter channel, no answers, nothing. Even the actors have no idea, neither does Raghavan.

Why keep us in the dark as if we don't exist?

I was reading an article a few hours ago. Latest rumours are that CID and CP will start after Indian Idol ends. Apparently Indian Idol has really good TRPs, which is why they are airing it twice on the same day with Dus Ka Dum in the middle. Additionally, once Dus Ka Dum ends, Comedy Circus is supposed to take its place, with KBC taking the weekdays. So at least for September we will still have no CID or CP. If I find the link again, I'll share it in the forum.

Today CID has disappeared from Sony's schedule. Instead repeat of Dus Ka Dum at 4.30pm. Is it the same situation in India for what ever time CID airs??
