Tele-celebs matched steps with housewives in the 'Mom's championship' on 'Boogie-Woogie' For once, hosts Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl were tongue-tied in the Mom championship on 'Boogie-Woogie' (Sony), to be aired on Saturday. Tele-actors— Pawan Shankar, Vinod Singh, Ajay Gehi, Raahil Aazam, Anoop Soni and Mannish Goel joined the jig with the participants. 'Siddhant' Pawan Shankar couldn't help blushing when Ravi Behl complimented his moves with partner Manju Johri on 'Dafliwale' and 'Naino Mein Sapna'. Pawan recounts, "Ravi said mazaa aagaya. This was my first stage performance and it boosted my confidence enough to go and perform at the Zee Night in Singapore in front of an audience of 4000 people. Though these ladies aren't actors, they are damn good dancers." Anoop Soni says, "It was a humane idea to have a mother's special. It's a big deal for women who are housewives to come and dance in front of a huge audience. On my part, I did my best to make my partner Latika comfortable at the rehearsals so that she doesn't feel inhibited to dance with me. Our concept of me as a sadhu whose meditation is broken by Menka with the songs 'Bharo Maang Meri Bharo' and 'Dil Dooba' was full of masti and went down well with the judges and audiences." With concepts ranging from mujras, item numbers and now dancing with celebs, these homemakers are sure proving that they not only rule kitchens but are serious competition on stage too. |
