KHOONI MANSION

It is a rest house named Raz Mansion, and it is the nights-time. On the counter is the owner of the rest house.

The door opens. A police inspector comes in with a man in handcuffs. The inspector moves straight to the counter.

Inspector: Can I spend one night here? All other hotels and rest houses are full.

Owner: *glances at the name plate on Inspector's apparel* Oh Sure, Mr Roy! Here are the keys.

Inspector: No...No. I'll stay here on this bench. *sits and make the person with him sit on the floor*

Owner: If you don't mind, who is this man with you?

Inspector: A wanted criminal. He shot dead an old man and escaped. Today, he came in my hands. And, as my vehicle got punctured, I'm here, waiting for my men to come in the morning and take him away.

Owner: Oh, Okay!

A newly-wed couple comes in.

Boy: Hey, Mr...?

Owner: Raz

Boy: Oh! So, Mr. Raz, we want a room.

Owner: Sure! Take these keys and please sign here *the boy signs*

Girl: Jaanu! Let's move. I don't want to stay out anymore. My legs are paining.

Boy: Oh Sure, let's move Rachna.

*they leave*

Soon, after sometime, Jayvanti Shinde - the CID officer comes inside the rest house.

*speaking in herself* Oh God! Where had ACP Sir sent me! So, I did the required work but what did I get from it?! There is a landslide onto the way to Mumbai. And, so I cannot go home! And to make it worse, all hotels and rest houses are full. Let's see Jayvanti if I get any place here.

Jayvanti: So, is here any room vacant?

Owner: Sorry, but no. A couple took the last room recently.

Jayvanti: *thinks: Very good,Jayvanti. Like the police, you too are late!* No problem. May I sit here, on the bench?

Owner: Yeah, sure!

She goes to sit on the bench and says Hi to the inspector sitting there.

Inspector: Hello! I'm Mr Roy! You? *shakes hands*

Jayvanti: I'm Jayvanti, Janyvanti Shinde - a CID officer.

Inspector: Oh!Good to know.

Jayvanti: Why is the man beside you in handcuffs and why is that bandage over his mouth?

Inspector: Nothing. Recently, he shot an old man dead, and escaped. I caught it today and waiting till the morning for my men to come because my vehicle got punctured.

Jayvanti: OK.

They both close their eyes and try to sleep.

Suddenly, they hear a sharp scream. They both awake and run towards the spot, from where they heard the scream. People are surrounding the place. Jayvanti and the inspector move inside the crowd. There was a girl crying seeing her husband dead, stabbed with a knife at the back.

Inspector: You're the same girl,na who recently came and your legs were paining?

Girl: *crying* Yes! Inspector, see my husband. Please do something, some one.

Jayvanti: *sympathizing* Please! Don't cry. Happened, what was to happen. But,how did it happen? Who stabbed him?

Girl: I don't know! I had gone to take a bath and when I came, I saw this...

Jayvanti: Didn't you hear any cry from him?

Girl: No.

Inspector: Looks like it is a well-planned murder.

Jayvanti: Yes. *to owner* Lock all the gates and no one will leave this hotel until the murderer gets caught. Everyone go to their rooms.

Inspector and Jayvanti search at the murder spot. Nothing was looking to be suspicious. Suddenly, Jayvanti sights a ring there.

Inspector: Looks like I've seen it somewhere.

Jayvanti: Please remember, where have you seen it?

Inspector: I'm unable to remember. I'll tell you when I remember.

Then,both come in the hall and again try to sleep at the bench.Only some time had passed when again they hear loud cries coming from a room. This time, when they awoke, the owner was there in the hall drinking water. Jayvanti, inspector and the owner all rush towards the room. While going there, Jayvanti tries to see something in owner's hands. Soon,they reached the room.

There were two dead bodies lying on the ground. This time, their neck was scratched with sharp glass. Again, nothing could be found around so that they could reach the murderer. As no one had seen who come there and killed them, Jayvanti decided to patrol there.

Inspector: Ms Shinde, what's the profit of moving here? Come and sleep. We will search about the murderer tomorrow.

Jayvanti: No, being the protectors of the common people, we can't rest. People are being murdered one by one. We need to catch the murderer or else what's the need of us.

Inspector: Okay, carry on. I'm going to sleep. If any help needed,do call me.

Inspector leaves.

Few seconds later, Jayvanti hears a loud cry from the Inspector. She, along with other men in the rest house reaches the spot. There they see that the criminal who came with the inspector was lying dead on the floor. He was hit tightly on the head by the flower vase, which was lying beside the dead body. Again, Jayvanti tried to look around for some evidence and she found a male's bracelet there.

Jayvanti: Listen everyone! I know who the murderer is!

Inspector: If you know, then tell us, Ms Shinde. Let us know too who the murder is.

Jayvanti: You all will soon get to know. I just need to confirm. And, everyone, go into your rooms now and do not open your doors till the morning, even if there is me standing at the gate. Go.

Everyone leaves. There are now Jayvanti and Inspector only. They both try to sleep at the bench.

Soon, Jayvanti hears some noise and she wakes up slowly. As soon as her eyes opened, she is scratched with a sharp knife at her arm. She sees a man with a mask standing in front of her. Soon, the inspector too wakes up.

Jayvanti: Inspector!Go and call everyone here.

Inspector: But,you...?

Jayvanti: Don't worry about me! I'll handle him...*punches the masked person*

Inspector leaves. A fight starts between Jayvanti and the masked man. Jayvanti throws the knife far away from man's hand and now they are fighting with hands.

Jayvanti: What did you think,Mr..? Did you think that I won't be able to catch you?

Masked Man: Shut up, girl! Now, you'll get killed by me. Despite of this fact, you are cracking jokes.

Jayvanti: That,we will know certainly who will be alive and who will be dead soon. *holds the man's hand and moves backwards the man*

Soon, everyone reaches the spot.

Jayvanti: Come, everyone. And now, let's see who the murderer is. *unwraps the mask*

Everyone: Mr Raz, you?

Jayvanti: Yes, the owner of this rest house!

Inspector: How did you come to know about him, Ms Shinde?

Jayvanti: It was very easy... When we heard the scream of the second murder, you remember, he was standing and was drinking water in the hall and from there we went with him to the spot?

Inspector: Yes, but how does it mean that he was the murderer.

Jayvanti: Nice question. I knew he is the murderer because when we were going to the murder spot, I saw a mark of a ring in his fingers. That was the mark of the ring which we found at the murder spot. And then, we found a bracelet near the dead body of the criminal which you brought here. That bracelet was also his. I saw it too when I was seeing the ring's mark in his fingers. Just then,I realized that he is the murderer. I was to catch him that moment only but I thought to catch him red-handedly. And,so I waited him to attack someone. I knew that the next attack will be on me because I told that I know the murderer. That's why I pretended to be sleeping here so that he come and stab me.

Inspector: Really, very nice sense, Ms Shinde. But,why did he murder so many people?

Jayvanti: That, he only can tell. *sees to the owner and tell him to say why he murdered people*

Owner: I did all this because murdering people gives me joy. It makes me happy. It entertains me. *laughs in an evil manner*

Jayvanti: Looks like he is a psycho.

Inspector: No worries, Ms Shinde. I'll take him to the mental asylum and after recovery; he will rot in jail until the order of his hanging comes.

Case Title: Purvi Ka Sangharsh (2 Hour Special)

Scene 1

The episode begins at a desolate rice field at night. We see two youths Sandeep and Brijendra out on a nighttime walk through the field, talking about how life away from the city is, and its positives and negatives. Suddenly, one of them notices flashing lights ahead in the centre of the field. Brijendra recalls how in his own farm, these were indications of an intruder who had sabotaged their crops. They immediately made their way through the field, calling out for the suppose intruder to stop. As they approach, the lights vanish. They push past a wall of crops and Sandeep lets out a yell of shock as he sees something in the middle of the clearing. Brijendra comes up and sees it's a large row of flattened hay, arranged radially in the form of a pentagon design. Sandeep says these are known as crop circles and said to appear where an alien spaceship descends on Earth. Brijendra chuckles and says it's only an urban legend. They search the surrounding area for the intruder, but find nobody. Sandeep insists he saw similar things in the movie "Signs" and read about it on some paranormal magazine.

Scene 2

The scene changes to Abhijeet sir, Freddy sir and Purvi having tea at a dhaba on their way home after solving a case. They share some light moments together (a sweet scene definitely worth watching 😃). The TV in the dhaba plays Aaj Tak that shows reports of UFO sightings across various parts of the city. We see Sandeep and Brijendra expressing their views about the crop circles. In another part of the city, a mother cries that her son is missing and there were burn marks outside his room, which scientists explain seem to have been made by lasers. The family then switches to India TV where first an astrologer construes that an old prophecy about man-eating aliens is coming true, and then a conspiracy theorist explains how the Prime Minister Nirmal Maheshwari has been said to hide evidence of an alien spaceship which crashed outside Mumbai a few years ago, and now the aliens are striking back for revenge.

NDTV shows Nirmal Maheshwari furiously denying these rumours and reprimanding the media for spreading such nonsense. He says the upcoming meeting with the President of America is more important for him, and dismisses the reporters. Freddy sir says he read about the American President John F. Kennedy being assassinated by aliens for hiding facts about the Roswell incident. Abhijeet sir says those things are nothing but figments of hyperactive imagination at best, and intentional attempts at political propaganda at worst. Purvi is seen eyeing the TV and report keenly. When Abhijeet sir asks her what the matter is, she quickly says she's just tired. Although not convinced, Abhijeet sir says they should leave as its getting late. They get back into the car and he drops her and Freddy sir at their homes.

Scene 3

We see a dark room with a computer console, several monitors blinking in unison and displaying complicated graphs. Several hooded figures stand in the corner. A high, cold robotic voice addresses them saying the first part of the mission went well, and it's now time for "Phase 2". One of the hooded beings suggests (in a beeping voice) that they should just kill everyone. The voice hushes him and warns to stick to the plan.

Scene 5

The scene switches to the next day at the CID bureau where our duo, Freddy sir and Sachin sir are seen at work. ACP sir enters and asks for updates. Abhijeet sir informs him that the anonymous phone call, from which Mr. Nirmal had received death threats from aliens, has not been traced yet. Daya sir reveals that a special team of elite commandos will be protecting Mr. Nirmal when his meeting with the American President Mr. Brian Oswald takes place at the Gateway of India. ACP sir tells them to work fast as DCP Chitrole has ordered them to find the caller soon, because the terrorist cell is taking the alien threats lightly and handed over the case to the CID as they're too experienced dealing with such weird cases now. (Too true, FW. )

Purvi enters, and ACP sir reprimands her for being late. She apologizes and uneasily says she's not been well since the night. ACP sir asks her to go take rest if unwell, but she says she's fine now. Abhijeet sir and Freddy sir notice her unease, but don't say anything. ACP sir receives a call from Chitrole urgently calling him to Room 43 of one Tulip Apartments. ACP sir asks what the matter is, but Chitrole insists it's something important regarding the security arrangements, and asks him to come at once. The ACP seems suspicious, but agrees. As soon as he disconnects, Abhijeet sir gets a call from the officials at the Grand Budapest Hotel where Nirmal will be staying, saying his PA has been attacked. ACP sir says they need to go to the hotel at once, and he doesn't want to attend to Chitrole's nonsense right now. He tells Purvi to go find out the matter from him, and warns her to be alert.

Scene 6

Our fantastic four and Sachin sir arrive outside the Budapest Hotel. ACP sir and Sachin sir briefly discuss about the history of the (fictional 😛) hotel and its security arrangements that have protected known personalities since 1950. The officials dressed as ancient guards meet them and the manager informs them that Mr. Nirmal will be arriving at 8:00 in the evening. He informs that his PA Aakash had come to inspect the hotel in advance, and someone had tried to shoot him. They go and meet Aakash, who requests them to protect him. Suddenly, a Molotov cocktail comes crashing through the window, and Daya sir pushes Aakash out of harm's way just before it explodes.

Sachin sir notices a man running away, and chases him through the garden and catches and slaps him (a very well directed chase 👏 👏). The guy confesses he was badly under pressure from poverty and debt, and hated the government for not doing anything for those in need. ACP sir says he understands his situation but killing is not a solution to poverty, and asks Sachin sir to take him away. The manager thanks them and informs that their hotel too had received a death threat saying Nirmal had been responsible for murdering the aliens who had crashed on earth in the spaceship. The scared receptionist informs that the caller had a high robotic voice, and seemed to be a real alien. ACP sir says it's surely just a drama, and orders the team to track this call.

Scene 7

Purvi visits the Tulip Apartments and goes up onto the third floor to meet Chitrole. She knocks on the door of Room 43 and calls out for him, but there's no response. She tries futilely two more times, and then notices lights shining inside from the nearby window. Remembering ACP sir's caution, she draws her gun and slowly enters the room from the window. Taking cover of the curtains and furniture, she slowly moves towards the sources of light. Suddenly, there are sounds of Chitrole calling for help, and we see a dark figure putting a gun on the head of the screaming person in the chair. Purvi bursts into the room; gun raised, and orders the attacker to drop his weapon. Suddenly, her expression changes to one of shock.

Scene 8

Back at the hotel, Sachin sir informs ACP sir that the hotel call has been traced to a PCO in a desolate location, and the call was made when the owner had left for lunch. He adds that this PCO is very near to the field where the alien crop circles were found. ACP sir firmly says it's a plan, and warns them to be vigilant. The hotel manager arrives and says the Prime Minister's convoy will be arriving soon and his bodyguards will be taking their places, though they can investigate anytime at the hotel for clues if needed. ACP sir thanks him and warns them to be careful, and the team leaves. He asks Daya sir to call Purvi regarding Chitrole, but her phone turns out to be switched off. None of them are able to contact her. Growing concerned, ACP sir asks them to find her.

Scene 9

We see Purvi lying unconscious on a sofa. A nasty-looking grey hand touches her chin and the high robotic alien voice says they made a mistake. The hooded accomplices standing nearby seem scared, surprised that Purvi turned up in place of ACP sir. The alien voice says they need to make the best of what they have achieved, and approaches to observe her more closely. On seeing her face, he becomes surprised.

Scene 10

The clock strikes 7:30. The fantastic four and Sachin sir are seen driving in the car. Abhijeet sir informs that Purvi's phone is still switched off. Daya sir says her neighbours informed that she's not yet back. Freddy sir says the Tulip Apartments landline isn't being answered. ACP sir is worried and says Chitrole's phone is out of reach. Sachin sir points out the Tulip apartments ahead. They dismount and visit the building only to find commotion inside. The employees and people are running scared everywhere, screaming about aliens.

The team calms them down and questions them. The employees explain how a short while ago (seen in flashback), a group of hooded aliens with glowing red eyes, sharp teeth and high mechanical voices had appeared in the building from a cloud of green smoke, warned them of dire consequences for supporting the PM and then vanished in the green smoke. The team checks the entire hotel and Room 43, but finds nothing at all. They question about to Purvi; the employees remember seeing her going up to the third floor and leaving just a few minutes before the aliens appeared. ACP sir wonders why Purvi calmly walked off like that without informing about anything to them.

Scene 11

The clock strikes 8:10. We see the PM Mr. Nirmal being greeted by several people and officials, and being led into the hotel. A dark shadow is seen watching the PM through the gate. A while after the group is inside the hotel, the person climbs over the perimeter and starts moving silently through the trees, out of the guards' view.

Scene 12

The clock strikes 9:30. ACP sir and the others are seen driving, worried that they have absolutely no leads about Purvi's whereabouts. Suddenly, ACP sir receives a call from Purvi. She informs that she's in the CID bureau and asks to meet them soon. The team immediately arrives at the bureau and meets Purvi there, who looks pale and clearly exhausted. ACP sir helps her into a chair and asks what happened. She explains how she had tried to confront the man attacking Chitrole, but after she stepped forward to stop him, she remembers nothing about what happened. She came back to her senses in the bureau and found herself completely exhausted and with scratch marks on her arms, with no knowledge of how it happened. Before they can discuss more, ACP sir receives a call from Chitrole asking them to immediately come to the Budapest Hotel, with Purvi, as something terrible has happened. ACP sir demands about the incident regarding the Tulip Apartments; Chitrole says he had never called him or visited the Tulip Apartments, shocking everyone.

Scene 13

The team visits the Budapest hotel where they are taken to a private room with the guards, anti-terrorist squad leader David and Aakash. Chitrole informs them that Nirmal has gone missing an hour ago. Despite searching everywhere, they could find no clues about him. Aakash shows them the CCTV footage which shows Purvi stealthily walking into the server room and disabling the cameras which had been installed in the corridor outside the PM's room. 😲 Dr. Salunkhe arrives and informs that the guards in the corridor had been knocked unconscious using a gas canister, and sadly adds that the canister contains Purvi's fingerprints. 😲 😲 Purvi is shocked and insists that she knows nothing. She explains what happened to her at the Tulip Apartments. The team tries to support her, but Chitrole finds the story unbelievable as he had never called ACP sir. David says the situation is serious, as Nirmal's meeting with the President is scheduled for the next day and his life is in danger. Despite the team's objections, he orders his squad to arrest Purvi and take her away for interrogation. Before she's led away, ACP sir softly reassures her that they'll surely prove her innocent.

Scene 14

In the forensic lab, Dr. Salunkhe sadly informs the team that Purvi's fingerprints have been found on the Prime Minister's hotel door and window, and the shoe prints found beneath the boundary wall match with hers. Daya sir informs that Nirmal was kidnapped by being dragged out of the window, and the guards on that side of the building have been found mysteriously unconscious. Abhijeet sir says the ATS team has kept the entire premises sealed to prevent any news of the kidnapping from leaking out, and has taken Purvi for questioning to their headquarters. ACP sir says somebody trapped her, and they need to find out what's the truth behind that alien attack at the Tulip Apartments, and also the fake call from Chitrole. He asks Freddy sir and Sachin sir to re-investigate there while the trio goes to search for more clues at the Hotel.

Scene 15

The scene shifts to the ATS headquarters, where Purvi is being interrogated by David and some female officers. She explains what happened and insists that she doesn't remember anything between visiting Tulip Apartments and finding herself at the bureau. David doesn't believe it, and threateningly tells her that they've found out she had a past connection with Mr. Nirmal, and suspect she's helped in his abduction for revenge, and then staged this memory loss drama. Purvi desperately tells them she's innocent, though she agrees she knew Mr. Nirmal before. David asks her to reveal the exact truth about that.

Just as she's about to reveal it, there are sounds of lasers and Theremins from outside, along with several screams. The door to the prison cell melts and the hooded figures enter in a cloud of green smoke, with glowing laser guns in hand. Their hoods fall back slightly to reveal white snake-like faces with green eyes and sharp teeth. (FWism at its best! ) Before the ATS officers can strike back, they shoot them down with their lasers. Their leader comes forward and, in his high eerie voice, addresses Purvi as their loyal comrade, and says they've come to help her. Purvi defies him and demands him to release Mr. Nirmal. The leader's eyes glow; Purvi suddenly becomes impassive and silently follows them out of the cell.

Scene 16

In the bureau, Abhijeet sir enters and informs ACP sir that Mr. Nirmal seems to have been moved into a car in the back side of the hotel, and driven off. However, there are so many cars in that area that it's impossible to confirm that. Sadly he adds that according to the ATS team Purvi's fingerprints have been found at various points suggesting that she sneaked into the hotel, turned off a section of the CCTV and then helped the culprits abduct Nirmal. He rejects their assertion and says she must've been forced to do it. ACP sir agrees and says they need to find the PM soon, lest the news leak out and country plunge into panic. Chitrole enters and sarcastically informs them that Purvi has been broken out of custody by the aliens, who invaded the ATS headquarters and knocked out the guards using lasers and toxic gases. He adds that according to David, Purvi had personal vendetta against Mr. Nirmal and thus joined hands with the enemies. The team furiously denies his words. He receives a call and, shocked, tells them to turn on the TV.

In the news, we see a "breaking" video of the unconscious PM being held hostage in a large ultra-futuristic cabin, apparently suspended in midair in a large glass tube. The alien leader steps forward and introduces himself as Zoragoth, the overlord of planet Letni and leader of the alien race Sangheili. He delivers a message to the inhabitants of the Earth - that one of their spaceships containing thousands of innocent Sangheili families and children had crashed outside Mumbai, and despite their pleas, Nirmal had them brutally murdered and the news hushed up. Thus, to take revenge, they will be killing Nirmal in public view in an hour and will broadcast the video of his death live for everyone to see. The Sangheili, cheer for their leader and Purvi is seen standing near Nirmal's prison tube, still looking impassive. ACP sir is shocked and immediately says they need to find her and Nirmal. David enters and says they indeed need to find her, because she's a traitor and national threat.

The team confronts him and defends her. Daya sir points out how in the video, her eyes are unfocused expressions blank and construes she's not in her senses. The lady officer accompanying David agrees and reveals that before collapsing, she had heard Purvi defying the aliens and asking them to release Mr. Nirmal. She says Purvi has been possessed by the aliens. David says that even then, they need to rescue the PM at all costs as panic is spreading far and wide in the country now after the broadcasting of this news. Ignoring the CID's protests, he orders his men to immediately start looking for the source of the broadcast, and to shoot down all the aliens and even Purvi. As he leaves, ACP sir says the trap in Tulip Apartments was actually meant for him, and Purvi got trapped because he had sent her there. The duo ask him not to feel guilty, and promise that they'll not let Purvi be harmed. (Wonderful performances by our trio here 👏 🤗)

Scene 17

We are shown a visualization of what's going on inside Purvi. She is shown desperately struggling against injuries, trying to gain control of herself while Zoragoth's monstrous face looms ahead of her and mockingly apologizes for holding her hostage inside her own body. He says she's just a necessary tool for their mission to succeed, and they'll "release" her as soon as their work is done. Purvi defies him, and at once Zoragoth's eyes flash to produce a barrage of agonizing scenes - her father meeting an accident, the duo falling into a pit of lava, ACP sir being shot, Freddy sir screaming as a bloodthirsty leopard approached him, Sachin sir being assaulted on the ground by armed thugs. The real Purvi screams in distress and collapses on the ground in the spaceship. Zoragoth approaches her and eases her up, her expression once again becoming impassive, and says the more she tries to regain control, the more he'll torture her.

Scene 18

The team is seen accompanying David as he calls the news channel which first broadcasted the video, asking for its source. Chitrole says although they've got permission to accompany the ATS during the mission, they cannot stop them from harming Purvi when they come across her. ACP sir says they'll save both her and the PM, and all costs. David is told that the video came via an anonymous email, and he asks the team to track it down. The officers attempt to do it and inform that the sender is masked via a very high-level proxy. David calls one of his tech experts who, after a long period of tense efforts, manages to override the proxy and determine the location of the sender - in the deserted outskirts of Mumbai. The entire group sets out for there at once.

Scene 19

In the spaceship, Zoragoth taunts humans in front of the camera broadcasting the news, and says the murder will begin in 15 minutes. The Sangheili cheer for him and Purvi is seen futilely trying to regain control of herself.

Scene 20

The group is seen driving towards the aliens' base. Abhijeet sir receives a call from Salunkhe sir informing that samples of the smoke residue recovered from the Tulip Apartments contained traces of auramine, potassium chlorate and lactose which are used in creating coloured smokes. The smoke residue from the ATS headquarters contained halothane and methoxyflurane, which are powerful incapacitating agents. He also informs that the lasers used to knock out ATS guards were actually a highly charged version of the Taser. ACP sir construes the alien invasion is simply a story created to mask a terrible conspiracy against Nirmal. David says that they've arrived, and points towards a large building from which the email signals had been routed.

Scene 21

Inside the "spaceship", Zoragoth says time is up, and orders Purvi to shoot Nirmal. Purvi raises her gun as the Sangheili watch eagerly. The team is seen rushing inside the facility, with ATS officers brutally killing everyone in sight. Abruptly we switch to the view of the battle within her, and Purvi defies Zoragoth long enough to gain control of herself for a split second, and jerks her hand away so the bullet goes wide and hits the wall behind Nirmal. Zoragoth screams in fury. The cops and ATS officers break into the compound and start firing, killing many of the aliens. ACP sir screams for them not to harm Purvi. Daya sir breaks the tube and pulls out Nirmal.

Suddenly, blinding lights flash in the compound and high-pitched noises start ringing from the speakers, so everybody is forced onto the ground. When it stops, the "aliens" are all gone. David furiously says it was an escape mechanism to create a diversion. The officers are glad that Nirmal has been rescued, but ACP sir frets that Purvi is still with the culprits. David says it doesn't matter as cops and officers are "expendable assets". 😡 ACP sir scolds him for his coldness and says that the CID team is a family with a bond far stronger than just that of colleagues, and they do not rest until each and every member of that family is safe. David brushes aside his words and says they need to ensure the meeting goes in peace, and find and destroy Zoragoth.

Scene 22

The scene switches back to Purvi's point of view where Zoragoth tortures her by producing more and more horrifying images of her team being attacked, killed or victimized. He snarls that it's punishment for failing to obey him and shooting Nirmal, which resulted in his alien story being exposed. He says that no matter what, he'll make sure Nirmal pays for daring to challenge him and his gang. Purvi says he'll never succeed as long as the CID is there. Zoragoth mocks her bravery and says he's thought of a good use for it.

Scene 23

The scene shifts to the next day right outside the Gateway of India, where the meeting between Mr. Nirmal and the American President Mr. Brian Oswald, regarding the inauguration of a new breaking deal between both countries, is going to take place. David and the ATS officers are seen vigilantly guarding the entire area, along with the President's bodyguards. Our famous five and Sachin sir are seen at a distance, worried about Purvi. Sachin sir says the "aliens" killed in the encounter were just cheap goons in costumes. Freddy sir says according to Nirmal, he was ambushed and drugged from behind in his room, and remembers nothing after that. ACP sir says the man calling himself Zoragoth is still on the loose, and he surely won't stop until his mission is accomplished. Daya sir says an attack on this meeting is likely, and they need to be fully alert.

The American President arrives and Mr. Nirmal greets him. The media starts clicking pictures excitedly, and there's commotion beneath the open-air podium. Our cops are vigilant, but suspiciously nothing happens at all. We're shown a shot of someone stealthily watching the meeting from behind a building. Eventually, a felicitation ceremony begins, and Aakash comes up to both the VIPs. Without warning, he draws his gun and holds Mr. Oswald as a human shield to everyone's shock. As he's at the back of the podium with the walls covering his sides, none of the bodyguards can get a clear shot at him. There's eerie laughter and Zoragoth and his gang comes forward, vilely taunting Mr. Nirmal and saying enough money and coaxing can buy anybody. Purvi walks forward from their midst, still impassive. ACP sir, the duo and others call out to her, but she only raises a gun straight at Mr. Nirmal. Zoragoth threatens him to step down from the podium and come to them, or Aakash will shoot Mr. Oswald. He taunts ACP sir saying it's his weakness being unable to shoot at his loved one that has made Purvi a useful tool for him. He says he'll now defame the Indian CID worldwide by making her shoot both Mr. Nirmal and Mr. Oswald in public view.

Scene 24

We switch back to Purvi's point of view. She knows that the time for critical action has come, and it needs a change of tactics. With Zoragoth's attention now focused on Mr. Nirmal, who's descending from the podium and approaching them as told, she stops trying to fight back and instead closes her eyes and meditates, focusing on nothing but her breath. Slowly, she experiences Zoragoth's grasp over her mind slipping. Although she regains control, she does not show it. Gun still raised, she slowly and methodically takes aim at Mr. Oswald's shoulder, from where the tiniest bit of Aakash is visible, and shoots. The bullet hits his gun and disarms him; Mr. Oswald pushes him and runs to safety. A great battle breaks out between the "aliens" and the guards and ATS officers; the bad guys are no match and soon overpowered. However, Zoragoth manages to grab Mr. Nirmal in the confusion and drags both him and Purvi into the nearest building. The trio goes after them.

Scene 25

On the terrace of the building, Mr. Nirmal pleads Zoragoth to let them go. Zoragoth taunts him and says now that he's defeated, he'll make sure he (Nirmal) dies along with him. The trio arrives and warns him to let Mr. Nirmal go, as the entire building is surrounded by the military and he has nowhere left to run. Zoragoth laughs and says all he has left is to make them pay for ruining his plans, and warns them to stay back or he'll shoot Nirmal. Purvi is seen trying to gain control on her knees, and he starts torturing her again much to her team's agony.

Hideous images of her loved ones being killed start flooding through Purvi's mind again, and despite her best efforts to be calm, she's unable to stop them. Zoragoth snarls that the love she has for her team and they for her, is a pathetic weakness and an obstacle that prevents them from achieving their goals. He says that love and affection are the most worthless things in the world. With the last of strength remaining in her, Purvi turns herself away from the horrors and starts remembering her good memories. We see several of her most loved moments from old episodes - light moments with with the veterans in Holiday Murder, the entire team enjoying the mimicry session in Rahasyamay Hotel, ACP sir lovingly stroking her chin, Abhijeet sir smiling gratefully after she rescued him from the pit. She tells Zoragoth that he's the weak and pathetic person, because his heart is filled with evil and greed, and he'll never know what love, friendship and family are. Her emotions are so strong that Zoragoth's effect over her mind fades, and with a great final struggle she is freed of his grasp, and something on the back of her neck explodes. (Ansha di's expressions were truly outstanding here, once again 👏 🤗) Zoragoth snarls in rage and pulls off his mask, revealing that he's none other than Sharad Maheshwari, Mr. Nirmal's brother.

He confesses that he was sick of his brother not giving him top positions in the government, and moreover most of the family wealth had been inherited by him and he refused to help him with it. Thus, Sharad began associating with rival parties. When Nirmal found out, he began planning to throw him out of the house and into poverty. To prevent it, Sharad decided to murder him and teamed up with several of Nirmal's enemies to create a conspiracy. A former fold-medal winning engineer, he decided to take advantage of the silly alien rumours revolving around Nirmal, and created several contraptions hoping to recreate an alien spaceship and cover his tracks with the story of the aliens killing him. One of his allies was an experienced psychotherapist and skilled in hypnotism. When he learned the CID was being involved in the phone call case, he decided to get ACP sir hypnotized and make him murder Nirmal to leave the entire country and police department scandalized and in shame, as he harboured a grudge against them for ruining his illegal drugs business.

However, when Purvi fell into the trap instead of ACP sir, which he had prepared with the help of a mimic artist imitating Chitrole's voice, he found out that she was the very girl who had once been involved in conflict with him and who had reason to harbour a grudge against Nirmal. He found her to be a much better victim, as he could easily divert the blame on her even if the authorities didn't believe the alien story. Thus they inserted a chip behind her neck, directly to her CNS and had been using it to gain control over her and made her sneak into the hotel and help them in kidnapping Nirmal. ACP sir warns him to let Nirmal go, but Sharad laughs and shoots Nirmal in the foot, shocking everybody. He forces the trio to drop their guns, and then prepares to shoot Nirmal. Beneath him, Purvi slowly manages to get her hands on ACP sir's gun lying beside her, and Sharad is too busy focusing on the trio to notice her. She shoots; the bullet hits his jugular and kills him at once. Our duo assists Mr. Nirmal while ACP sir rushes to Purvi's side and orders them to call an ambulance immediately.

Scene 26

In the hospital, we see the team waiting outside Purvi's room, worried. Dr. Salunkhe informs that the chip being used to "possess" Purvi was powerful and directly attached to her CNS, and although she overcam it with her sheer willpower, its destruction also caused her much stress. All of them pray for her. The doctor emerges and says Purvi is fine now, and they can talk to her. Happy and thankful, they enter the room and reunite with Purvi. She thanks them all for their efforts and care, and apologizes the caused trouble. ACP sir says she mustn't say so as despite being lured into a terrible trap, she managed to overcome all odds and they could never have saved Mr. Oswald or Mr. Nirmal without her help.

Purvi reveals that Sharad had once been the dean of her university and attempted to exploit female students in exchange for marks. When she tried to get him exposed, the then-chief minister Nirmal managed to cover up for him and got Purvi expelled from the university. Although she didn't believe in keeping grudges, that injustice had been hurting her. Abhijeet sir says Nirmal got what he deserved, for protecting his wayward brother instead of punishing him. Purvi uneasily remembers Sharad's words that their love and concern are weaknesses. ACP sir tells her to forget it and explains they are actually her greatest strengths and true God-given values which helped save the day. 👍🏼 Mr. Nirmal enters with his guards, apologizes to her for what he did to her in university and says he'll have her honoured for saving his life. Purvi humbly refuses saying the credit goes to the entire team, and Nirmal decides to honour all of them. 😃

Scene 27

The episode ends with a lovely shot of Purvi reporting back on duty, and the entire team clapping to welcome her back. 👏 👏 😃

Note - Despite the obvious FWisms and rather unbelievable story, the episode is worth watching for the performances of our famous five, Sachin sir and of course Purvi. The direction was surprisingly good and fairly engaging. I wish the special effects had been better, though. Overall, one of the better episodes of this year.

Recent addition to CID is Jayawanthi Shinde who broke the image of traditional shy and calm woman into the pieces similar to the door she broke. She gave the dabang entry to CID landing on feet of Pankaj in episode Action Jackson. She is Marathi girl bought up in Haryana. She is rough and tough cop who can knock down criminals with bare hands. Her inspiration to join CID team is Sr Inspector Daya. She was trained and bought to the team by notorious DCP Chitrole. Her door breaking skills are constantly praised by the high rank officer and her guru DCP Chitrole. She has undergone 6 months of training in door breaking skills and can break door into pieces. Though bought by DCP Chitrole, she is not traitor whose purpose is to destroy the team. Rather she is a good team player who mingled with team very well. She is bubbly girl as well, who does not work with a stoic glare. She teased Nikhil while on the case, bringing some lighter moments to the episode. She has dedication towards work and doesn't give up easily, well featured in episode bomb blast where she does not let go of the car she was holding, thus making sure culprits don't run away. Though she is little aggressive while handling culprits and corrected by seniors, she is never annoyed to learn. After all, she has just started her career and has got lot of stuff to learn over time. Her hard struggle and self-training bought her to the notice of CID team and eventually she attained her dream of working with CID especially Sr Inspector Daya. One can learn that hard work makes your dreams turn into reality from her.
