I was feeling very down thanks to 2015, so I went back and watched a couple of old cases. The first one was The Case of the Incomplete Letter and the second Dowry Death. I must say I really miss the classic era where there was a perfect mix of investigation and forensics that led to resolution. And the forensics wasn't over-the-type fake stuff with bubbling chemicals and a neta-looking Dr. Salunkhe. As I was watching, a song came into my brain:

Jaane kahan gaye woh din

Jab the sab ek saath main

Forensics tha asli sa

Investigation bhi tha amazing sa

Jaane kahan gaye woh din

Jab the cases ek dum mast

Jab koi achanak wale poisons nahi the

Aur naa the koi OTT dialogues

I could go on, but I guess you get the point.

Case of the Missing Father - Now that's what you call a case with emotions. It wasn't a CID case, still they took it on. And when they found the father and helped him and Mannu to a train, just the way those eyes, those expressions, those unspoken words spoke was so good. This is a case I could watch again and again and again just for the way they portrayed every second of the episode. Now that's what I call a true Golden Era classic!
