I have clicked on the 'Agree' option. I only watch CID because of the cast and that too very rarely. That is, only when I am at home. The stories aren't very interesting in my opinion and I remember I used to change the channel within first 20 minutes when I used to watch the show during my summer vacations. Don't know much about the quality of the episodes now a days but I guess its much more the same.

I would partially agree. I watch it paritally because of trio or duo...but it's not like I will not appreciate a good CID story if one of them is missing.

We have a few episodes where ACP is missing and Abhijeet leads the team.

Even if one of duo is missing, I will enjoy a good thrilling story. There have been excellent episodes in the past with one of the duo missing...for eg Killer Eyes and Murder in the safety Vault had no Daya but they were very good episodes.

Then we had Secret at table no 6 and Letter from the past which had no Abhijeet but they were nice to watch.

It depends on the story too. They have to make it nice and interesting...even if all 3 of them are there and we get one like Aakhri Chunauti Finale...its boring to watch.

But then trio are heroes of CID...so the heroes have to be there for a majority of the time. If they don't, then it's not the CID we have been watching all these years. It will be like other wannabes like Arjun or Shapath or whatever.

Yeah. This is one point I forgot to mention in my post. I would rather enjoy a nice, interesting story even if duo, trio are missing for most of the episode. I guess, I should have clicked on 'Partially agree' option. I have watched only few episodes from the golden era, I enjoyed most of those episodes.

cast is a major reason why ppl watch the show..if it wasnt the reason..cid special bureau could have been a success as well i guess..if there was some cult personality like mukesh khanna playing the ACP and anoop soni sr.inspector instead i guess it could have been more popular

I disagree. I think people watch it for the concept,theme and thrills. Cast is not that important.

According to me cast is main reason for watching the show but other factors also influence the viewership 😊

I'd also say partially agree and would second what Vis said.
The team is very important for me .. I won't say the whole team .. it's mainly trio ond Freddy sir .. the presence or absence of the rest doesn't reallly effect me but if a case is good then maybe absence of one or 2 of them will not make me switch off the tv. It has to be a blend of a good case and them though maybe there are moments rather always we are able to sit through a dud just because of duo/trio but yes in case of a good case the cast matters but isn't a necessitty.

I started watching the show for the cast, but then got gripped by the amusing stories in the golden era. With time, both the cast and the show have been equally responsible for me to sticking with it. At times when some actors were missing, the nice cases made me continue watching it.. and for bad cases, the cast did the magic. For any show, be it CID or anything, case and story has equal importance for pulling its audience ! Hence a "Partially agree" from me😊 But at the same time, its true that if today any one of Trio or Duo leaves the show, I wonder if I will be able to convince myself to watch the show for long ! Thats doubtful !
