Today is an amazing day. We have our second CIDian ready for grilling. And that person is...Wait, wait, wait. How can I say it so easily. Here are some hints:
  • This CIDian is a hardcore Salunkhe. As in, he dissects every episode and every story like Salunkhe. 😉
  • This CIDian is an amazing story writer. In fact, he's made records for writing such a long story that it fills 8 posts. 😆
  • This CIDian is a huge fan of Lion King. 😉
Need I say anything more. 😆 This week's CIDian is none other than Ravi (DemonStar). So let the grilling begin. 😃

And here is your special siggy to flaunt your special status for this week:

Remember everyone, please respect Ravi's privacy. You can ask as many questions as you want but if she chooses not to answer a question, respect that wish.

Ravi, get ready to be grilled. Because your seat is about to get very, very, very hot!!!

Thanks a lot for giving me this opportunity, Sri! 😃 Alright, let's begin.

Name: Ravi Krishna

Age:
22

Fav color:
Red

Fav movie:
English - The Lion King, Hindi - Lagaan

Fav actor/ess:
Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma

How I got started on IF:
I'd actually been looking for videos of CID episodes back in 2005 or so, which were darn hard to find in those days. So I came here and discovered that I had to register in order to download some of those, so there began my journey. Our forum mainly became active around late 2009, after which I became a regular member. 😊

Fav section on IF:
No prizes for guessing. CID!

Any message to the rest of the members?:
You guys rock! 😃

1. What is that one thing which excites you the most about IF?

Most members here are very respectful, tolerant and fun-loving, great to be with and chat to. The moderators are cool and as such the place generally has a very healthy atmosphere, in addition to lots of cool articles, videos and unofficial tidbits. I've found some really dear friends on here.

2. What is the one thing which you would like to change about IF?

I'd love to see a proper mobile-friendly version developed, first of all. Browsing the site on handheld devices is quite a chore.

3. What is your advice to Ekta Kapoor about taking 20 year leaps every month?

I'm afraid I didn't get what you meant by 20 year leaps. But I'm totally indifferent to her, so I hardly care about what she does or doesn't. 😆

4. Which is your favourite food? Why?

Just about any paneer dish. It's much healthier than other party stuffs and tastes like manna from the heavens for me. Bon appetit! 😛

5. Which is your favourite holiday spot? Why?

Haven't been on a lot of holidays myself, but I'd love to visit Kashmir or Manali someday.

6. Who is your all-time favourite on-screen Hindi film couple? Why?

I'm not really enthusiastic about Bolly films, especially the romantic ones. Can't think of any couple.

7. Which is your all-time favourite Hindi song? Why?

Ghanan Ghanan from Lagaan. It's so brimming with energy, optimism and hope, never fails to cheer me up. Not to mention Rahman sir is one of my all-time favourite composers and an inspiration.

8. Which is your all-time favourite English song? Why?

The Circle Of Life from The Lion King. Childhood nostaliga + Carmen Twillie's wonderful performance + Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer's majestic arrangements + the beautiful, thought-provoking lyrics + the sheer awesomeness of the scene it accompanies in the film = a real winner for me.

9. Who is your favourite singer?

I listen to instrumental/orchestral music mostly, with my top favourite composers being Hans Zimmer and John Williams. But if I've got to name a singer, I'll go with Shreya Ghoshal.

10. What is your favourite beverage? Why?

Orange juice. Tasty bhi, healthy bhi! 😛

11. What is your favourite soft drink? Why?

I gave up on soft drinks long ago. But to answer the question, I'll go with Sprite.

12. Do you believe in astrology? If yes, then why, and if no, then why not?

No and yes; I'll expand. To put it mildly, I think 99.9% of all the astrology/palmistry/tarot-card reading/whatever shown on TV channels every morning is utter brachiosaurus crap, and the majority of the astrologers/prophets/seers etc. are frauds with a capital F. I'd have answered no to the question, but I've experienced certain predictions (or so they're supposed to be) calling whom a coincidences or phony tales feels like quite a stretch.

At the same time, it's important to remember that astrology finds no support whatsoever in modern science, and many such predictions have been periodically debunked. I'm very anti-superstition and do not like to believe anything without sufficient evidence or personal investigation. I've searched around online for arguments both for and against astrology and at this point feel that there's possibly some truth in it, but it's likely a phenomenon much beyond our current understanding (just my thoughts). But regardless of its validity, I think one should concentrate on the present and work to achieve our goals without worrying about the stars. Remember Lord Krishna's famous verse from the Gita.

13. What is your greatest phobia? Why?

Let's say my boggart would take the same form as Mrs. Weasley's. I got chills when I first read that part in the book.

14. Which is your most favourite festival? Why?

I was on the verge of saying Diwali, but I'll go with Ganesh Chaturthi now because of the absence of fireworks. 😆 Also because I venerate Lord Ganesha and love that puja in general.

15. Describe a typical day of your life.

Wake up, check my mobile, get washed and ready, browse my regular list of sites, get busy with college stuff, hang around with friends, lunch/dinner etc, retire into my little room, second round of browsing, gaming or music before bed. What fun! 😛 😆

16. Describe your childhood in 100 words.

Seeing what so many poor children in our country live like, I'm extremely grateful that mine was very enjoyable in comparison, thanks to my dear parents. I've got a massive collection of (well-preserved) toys that'd make quite a lot of jaws drop. I also got my first computer a bit earlier than other classmates and it came in very handy with studies too. I was a bit of a recluse in school initially and got bullied a bit, but that was rectified later. I met a lot of wonderful people who influenced me a lot. All in all, great!

17. Describe yourself in 500 words.

Yaar, there isn't much to describe! 😆 I haven't even filled the "About Me" field in my Facebook profile yet for the same reason. I'm just another guy out there who tries to live life to the fullest, meet and make new friends and strengthen ties with old ones, try to use my God-given capabilities to their fullest and be a little of the change I want to see in the world. I consider my day made if I managed to bring a smile upon somebody's face, especially someone who truly needed it. I'm a humanist and believe in compassion and love towards everyone. Sorry, bas isse zyada nahin likh paaunga. 😆

18. Which is your favourite scene from CID?

Too many to list, but I'll go with the opening scene of "The Case Of The Unknown Body", where ACP sir returns to the bureau with his restored eyesight and is greeted by the team.

19. Which kind of scene/track would you like to see in CID in the future episodes?

A realistic thriller featuring involvement of politicians and authorities, with the team facing immense odds and using a combination of both brawn and brains to solve a thought-provoking mystery and defeat a genuinely formidable antagonist. Most of all, I'd want the characterization to be given special attention and care.

20. Which is your most irritating scene/moment from CID?

The list is waaay too long. For now, I think the forensic scene from "Maut Ka Aashirwaad" takes the trophy. 🤢

My question... has there been any show to which you've been as addicted to as CID ? if yes then which and why ?
2nd. Many people consider doctors to be equivalent to gods but mistakes do happen if you had to explain to a group of people that Doctors aren't gods (or you can agree withy the statement if you wish 😉 ) in say around 50 words what would you say ? (you can exceed)

@Mallika - Thanks. 😊

Who are your favourite comedians and when did you first see them?(can be movie ) Have you seen Abott and Castello series?

Russell Peters (saw his videos on YT), Ben Stiller (Night At The Museum) and Eddie Murphy (the Shrek series, which I dislike otherwise). Shekhar Suman and Kapil from CC are also okay I guess. 😛

Nope, I haven't seen that series yet.

@pvkd -

1)''Boys dont cry.'' Do you agree or disagree? Why?

Yes, boys have social responsibility and should try not to be explicit about their emotions IMO. But at the same time, people shouldn't ridicule a boy because he breaks down while facing some genuinely traumatic event. Tears are the body's reminder that one is a human, after all.

2)Your favourite season.

Spring.

3) Your favourite animal.

Hard to choose - I'm a big animal lover in general. I guess I'll go with the tiger.

4)What do you prefer, ''forgive and forget'' or '' tit for tat''?

I came across a nice quote a while ago - "The first to apologize is the bravest, the first to forgive is the strongest, and the first to forget is the happiest." I think that's the ideal way to go. But of course, there are some tough nuts with whom one can't afford to be soft. Once the matter is over, we should try to put that behind us as well IMO.

5) The first thing which comes to your mind when you see:
1. Ocean -
Discovery Channel's marine documentaries
2. Kitten
- The little Tom
3. Mountain -
Snow

@ Bhavana - Thanks. 😆

My question... has there been any show to which you've been as addicted to as CID ? if yes then which and why ?

I used to be religiously addicted to Disney Hour in childhood. If a power cut coincided with the show's time in the evening, samjho uss din toh Mahabharat pakka. 😆 Recently, I've been regularly following Adaalat because I like Ronit sir's enactment of KD's character, and also because the stories are generally quite good.

2nd. Many people consider doctors to be equivalent to gods but mistakes do happen if you had to explain to a group of people that Doctors aren't gods (or you can agree withy the statement if you wish ) in say around 50 words what would you say ? (you can exceed)

Yes, it's because so many patients receive a second life thanks to the efforts of doctors. But it's important to remember that nobody is omniscient - to err is human, regardless of which field one is in and how gifted they are. The knowledge we currently possess in science is due to the labourious research by tens of thousands of scientists and doctors through the centuries, and it's far from complete; and doctors do their best to work around with what we do know - I think everyone should remember and respect that. New things are discovered everyday and you never know when a seemingly mundane case turns out to be extraordinary. And even the world's best surgeon can commit a rare mistake someday that could prove to be deadly. We can only do our best and leave the rest to Him.

On a side note, when someone asks me this question, I also like to add that I believe in the Advaita philosophy which states that we're all divine, for our very own Self is a part of God. I'll leave it at that or risk being known as baba DemonStar henceforth. 😆
