hi frnds,I'm not an active member of dis forum but my frnd Padmpriya invited me here to chek out her poems thread, & den I saw dis thread discussing abt CID's end, so cudnt stop myself 4m commenting.
Lyk many of us, CID has been a part of my lyf as well. Wen it started in 1998, I was a mere kid of 9 yrs, I hardly understood d meaning of crime thillers or d actual functionalities of a CID team, but still I started watching it. Yrs passed, I grew up watching CID & CID SB, den my study pressures increased & I completely lost touch wid d show except d promos. Den last yr I saw d promo 4 AC series, I was shocked thinking dat CID' s going to end & I restarted watching it again, but mostly d re-runs, aftr a gap of nearly 5 yrs. It was den I discovered dat CID has lost it's old magic.. d team leader always scowling & shouting, d second-in-command behaving lyk a cheap roadside romeo, a senior member who's supposed to b promoted is still d sub-inspector & is behaving lyk a cartoon, plus a multitude of other flaws & not to 4gt d absolutely mindless & nonsense stories of whom no1 cud make out any head or tail (except a few gud ones) having uncountable unexplained loopholes.
It was den I started thinking .. y don't dey end dis show ?? wats d point in running a show lyk dis wen u hv to continuously compromise on its content & quality?? Not a single intellectual story but only heaps of mutilated dead bodies..i mean if it continues lyk dis, den sum day it might face d axe of d channel to wrap up d show owing to d dipping TRPs. & if it happens (God forbid!) den it wud b d most unfortunate event in d history of Indian tv. CID as a show is an icon, a milestone + a benchmark for each & evry existing show on Indian tv channels & it's d duty of FireWorks to c dat CID doesn't lose it's well deserved honor & respect in d pursuit of a few extra TRPs...& if it cant do dat, den it's better to end d show dan ruin it dis way.
Rather I believe dat it wud b much bettr if dey end d show, take a few months break & den start telecasting it again not as a CID Season-2, but d old episodes 4m Epi No.1 itself in d current time slot in biweekly format. Dis way it wud get even more viewers dan it has now plus d TRPs wud increase as well.
