hello everybody, most of the members of this forum must have noted that our beloved CID members have gradually started sounding like robots. also, the demarcations between the distinct characterstics of the various members is fast eroding away.I mean there was a time when ACP Pradyuman was distinctly the paternalistic figure and mastermind of CID, Abhijeet the impulsive yet the shrewd sleuth and perpetrator of dangerous missions guy along with being the pastmaster of disguises and Daya the brains-with-brawn guy who went with a fine toothed comb to catch a criminal. freddy added the comic element although initially he was more of a mute observer(of course, i didnt like it when he overdid the comical antics) and vivek was the diligent and methodical youth who loved to pull freddy's leg. But, nowadays all of them seem to be going through the motions which have been chalked out for them, appropriate reactions are missing and there is unnecessary display of aggression.the only good thing that happened was the ebbing of the flirtations between abhi-tarika.

To be honest I have stopped watching the newer episodes of CID. I keep myself updated through the wonderfully written updates by Priya. I find her updates much more entertaining than what they telecast these days.

However I watch the classic cases whenever I can throughout the day. Sometimes I watch one episode 5-6 times a week and feel the same enthusiasm as I felt the very first day that episode was aired. Probably I wont do the same for the current episodes..

I wouldn't call it a downfall for CID as that would be insulting a show that has been running for years with some of the finest actors Indian television has ever seen. But I would say that the classic cases were truly the golden days that are never coming back.Nonetheless I wish the new actors the best, as I'm sure whatever they are doing to keep the trps coming is not an easy thing to do.

Now as I type I have the 4th episode link on buffer. I think this should explain my craze for CID Classic Cases.

i also watch an old episode each sunday on the net,.i agree that we cant blame them for the downfall.the bi-weekly constraint that FW is facing is the main reason for these robotic characterstics cropping up, i just wish they had not turned bi-weekly.....🤔

I also no longer watch the new cases. Lost all my attention for that. But I keep myself updated through IF, updates etc. If the members say a scene or story or plot was worth it, then only i catch hold of the video on youtube. Otherwise I just love going through old videos on youtube.... Yes. The charm has disappeared. The other day someone on a social networking site very recently visited the sets. My god what a contrast. No smile. Very tired looks. Grim and gloomy. etc. I think the biweekly format has taken its toll. Till the day the original magic returns, i will never watch the newer episodes... Infact being exposed to the uk tv, am losing interest for cid.... only because of viz, shagz, bhavz, prabha, jia, sneha etc do i come to IF.... i still love cid, but one day it will lose its fan if it doesnt return to what it was before... much before... the Golden Era....

I was just thinking that some of the negativity prevailing on the forum seems to have vanished and some smiling smileys are back. Such threads really pull us back into depression you know.
We are all aware of it. I don't want to keep reminding myself about it.
Excuse me.

I stopped watching the show since 29 Oct 2010. I never thought this day would come but it did. I am still uncomfortable missing it intentionally but I guess in the next 2-3 weeks I will be able to get over.
The charatcerisations have gone for a toss. I fear that if I continue watching I will forget what they used to be and I don't want that to happen. So I am staying away looking for other things to keep me busy.
Now I am just wating for pre-2006 eps to be aired only then I will watch CID. The ones they are repeating now have been show umpteen number of times.

i did not want to create an atmosphere of depression but even the re-runs are not going back to more than the 2006 cases, i gathered solace from the re-runs,at least there should be some semblance in the re-runs.....

If new ideas are lacking, at least they can give us some comic relief and personal touches like Abhi calling ACP Ravan, Freddy going to gym for his new padosan, Vivek bringing flowers that blackens the face, Vivek Tasha icecream plan, ACP aiding the others in frightening Freddy away from sweets and then eating the sweets , Dr Salunkhe and his artful pots. Recalling them saddens me, but no negative vibes, so I will think of them and feel happy and refreshed.

Yeah the sensible comedy and light emotional parts are gone from the show.
