This is called as loyalty. SONY and CID separate. No chance.

More like money loyalty. I think SET is paying FW extra to stay. But who knows?

No I don't think so. Instead if SET gave FW a free hand that would do the show a whole lot of good than giving money to stick on.

Yes, in a way. In an interviewof BP Singh, he said that he had made like 7 CID episodes already in 1994 and planned to put them in trial on DD. However, DD declined and it was not until 4 years that those episodes of CID were telcasted on Song. Besides, maybe CID would not run this long had it been shown on DD, the way the channel unfortunately perished

I've personally felt that other channels a a lot more commercialsed than sony !! and they also have more success shows to talk of !! So i feel CID's better with Sony

cid is a complete sony's child and no doubt of it. No other channels can make this boy twelve year old. Sony dont have a tendency to kill the child in its bad stage, just the reverse of they done to other shows. They make facilities for cid to grow up with film stars, ads. Whatever we say the wanted type promo will attract more people to cid. So the other channels have nothing to do with cid.

Whatever may be the case. FW can't take the BRAND CID from SONY to any other channel. SONY will never part with that brand name. So if FW make the show with current set of actors and tech, it can't be CID, it has to be something else and if it is something else then CID is already lost, so whats the use of moving away.

SONY is an integral part of this equation
CID = TRIO + FW + SONY

If anything is altered its not CID.

Bit longer is fine but where are the stories to have the depth so that they can be told for that long. These days stories can't sustain audience attention for one hour (including breaks) how will it sustain for 2 hours.

Secondly everyone getting sufficient screen time is a very nice idea but what are they going to do in that sufficient time is even more important. How will it be if to tell a story in 2 hours they stuff it with loads of Freddie's Tomfoolery, Salunkhe's Bickering, longer stretched Forensic Scenes where we might have to sit through a sweat analysis the next time and God forbid truck loads of flirting. At the end those who want to see a good mystery will end up with nothing just like the current times

Lastly Two hours per week means we need the new members and with new members we will still have the disconnected investigations, Trio as decorations and the other set of problems that we are already seeing.

The classic example is Gajendra Singh's SA RE GA MA which ran on Zee for so many years. It was his concept, his brainchild, his creation but when he decided to move on due to creative differences with Zee, he had to leave all of it behind. No Channel will part with their brand name and more for for shows running for 12+ years.

We HAVE to accept that SONY is an integral part of CID too.

Now, Saregama is a different thing. Gajendra Singh moved out, Sonu Nigam moved out. Sonu was at that time the main attraction.
Now if B P Singh and our trio move out, they leave behind a brand CID on Sony and B P Singh makes a new CID on another channel with our trio, won't he let us fans know about it? And if our trio comes on another channel with everything the same, except that the name of the serial is something else, won't we all watch?
