CID's Abhimanyu will now be seen essaying a romantic character in Deepti Bhatnagar's forthcoming weekly. Titled Shaadi Street, the show will be directed by Akash Khurana.

Pandey informs, "Yes, I have signed the serial. A new girl will be paired alongside me. Basically, it was an old commitment. The serial will be aired soon on Star Plus. I was selected to do the show even before CID happened to me."

Elaborating on the storyline, he says, "It's basically a love story and I play Raj, a person who comes from a background of crime and violence. The problem begins when the girl falls in love with me without knowing my family background."

He further adds, "I chose to play a romantic character because it was a very well written character. Playing this character will give me a chance to enhance my scope as an actor. Considering that I am doing an action oriented role in CID, it will provide a refreshing change also. "

Pandey is also excited about donning a new look for the show and says, "I have a completely different look this time around. It has a lot of mass appeal."

He is happy that the show is a weekly and not a daily, "Working on CID takes most of my time. There are many locations to shoot and it's very time consuming."
